Hey guys, this is my first post on these boards... but i have read many posts which have been well written (in terms of aux soundgate installs)

i'm well aware of car msg board ettiquette lol... i've searched and searched...

I was installing my new Soundage AUX input (w/ navi)... i bought the Y harness they sell on the yahoo site as well. i encountered some noise issues.

1) at first i had the alternator whine w/ the GLI.. and noticed it did make a difference where you placed it back behind the CD tray (not crossing power lines, etc)

2) however, even w/o using the 12V power source, i was still getting a noise. ripped it down and figured out that it only happens when i turn my lights on... dead silent w/ them off. i unplugged the soundgate from the harness and it goes away.. plugged the soundgate box back into the harness (w/o any RCAs or external audio sources plugged) and it comes back. it's a constant "hummmmmm". moving around the soundgate box or positioning wires makes no difference.. just a constant hummm.. not louder or softer w/ rpm's either.

anyone experience this? do i have a faulty soundgate box?
any known solutions?

I don't know what a Soudgate is but, I would suggest checking your grounds and maybe adding a few more. Heck even add 20 more, it will never hurt.
