Fog lights- bulb or connection issue

Hey, i had my foglights professionally installed @ a autobody shop that does dealership work, and had no problems @ all with the foglights, or install. Looked like it came stock, dealership didnt even notice i added them, i added Hoen h11 bulbs, and for a while no problems, untill i switched to the nokya hyper yellows. SO heres my question

1 of the lights dosent come on, but sometimes it does, and sometimes it comes on just randomly.

I tightened up the connections, and everything seemed fine, untill today when it happened again.

So is it the bulb? Or the connection? I mean, i woudlent think it was the bulb on account that it does work when it wants, but how could it be the conneciton if i have had 0 problems, or 0 things that could have caused the problem for over a year?

I have a feeling it might be the wattage of the bulb is too high for the connector. Are you using a bulb with a power rating higher than the stock rating? Take a look at the connector (specifically the two metal connection points where the bulb would fit into) and see if they have burnt. I know this is a major problem for people who put in Xenon look a like bulbs in their head lights.

Well thats the thing, my hoens were fine, and my other nokya works fine, so why only 1. Both sets are brighter then stock, i think i might have just got a bad bulb.

swap the nokya's on each side and see if that happens, then you'll know if it's the particular bulb

Well, i got the nokyas checked, and both bulbs are fine. I went and purchased Polargs, and now the same exact problem. My driver side bulb went out, i know for a fact, the bulbs are fine.

When the nokya bulb stopped lighting, i put the hoens back in, and no problems from then, till now, over a month.

So why the yellow bulbs? I know it cant be the TSX foglight becuase plenty of members have bright aftermarket yellow fogs.

And my hoens work fine

So i really cant pinpoint the issue @ all.

Are the hoens bulb less wattage? but even so, then why would the yellows work on other members cars, and not mine? and why only 1 foglight? and why only yellow foglights!? im so confused and annoyed... anyone , ideas?

No, they're 55 watt H11 bulbs just like stock.

I have this EXACT same problem. It's the right side fog light. I can reach into the underbody and wiggle the harness a bit and it will come on for a little while, but then it goes out again. Seems like a loose wiring harness, or a defective one. In any case, now that I've read this thread I'm thinking it is a problem with the bulbs themselves. Maybe I'll just put the stock bulbs back in.

I've isolated my problem to a passenger side wiring harness fault. Gonna have to replace it.

been almost 2 weeks now and no problems, and the problem was solved by switching the driver side to the passanger side and vice versa.

weird huh?
