Another O2 problem...

I was having issues like excited was...
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...primary+sensor
and finally got a CEL, but only stayed on for 2 days and it went off.
So i took my car into the dealer, knowing it was probably the O2 sensor gone bad.
After checking out my car, they said it was a P0171 code. and recommended i change and/or service my "aftermarking", comptech icebox, or air filter, K&N.
So i bought a new K&N filter and still having the same issues.
And is my problem the cause of primary or secondary sensor?
What are the difference between the two?

Since it's coming out of my pocket, should i just ask them to replace the O2 sensor?

P0171 is usually associated to another code per AllData on our car. My guess is one of a few things... you don't have a good seal with the Comptech & K&N option. You are doing the weatherstrip seat with the K&N right? Additionally, you might want to look at putting and anti fouler on your O2 sensor. Go to Autozone, buy a set, drill it out with a 1/2" bit almost to the bottom and reinstall with the O2 sensor. Don't recall if you are running an aftermarket cat or not. You'll need the least obvious antifouler you can get due to CA air nazis.

I don't have the weather seal on it, but did something else to keep a good seal on the comptech lid. But im going to put on my stock lid.
And i'm running stock on pretty much everything else.

That is bent out of shape. I wish the designers would of included some sort of shield to protect this insertion site.

The sensor is a easy fix. Buy it online, then install it yourself.

Dealer wants too much for repair, i guess i'll be doing it on my own.
Will i need to reset the ECU after i install it?

^^You don't have to, cause after several days, the CEL will clear on its own. Or to make it happen sooner, you could disconnect the battery for 30mins.

Buy the sensor from a wholesale that gets oem sensors cheap.
Hondaacuraworld. threw me the sensor a bit cheaper than dealer.

dealer was like 350
hondaacuraworld.com about 280 talk to tim (throw him an e-mail)
then you can do most of the install yourself.
