'07 TSX won't start sometimes

This is really strange I think. We went out the other day and when we were ready to leave, the car just made a buzzing sound, and was not even trying to start(not turning over, nothing). We tried it a couple more times, and then it started up like nothing ever happened. I wondered if it might have been the steering wheel lock, but it wasn't locked. It's happened a couple times since then. We will definitely be mentioning this at the 10,000 mile service.
Any ideas as to what could be causing this?!

I saw some posts on this before, but can't find them now.......

Thanks,
Mike

I've experienced this with my parents' TL but not with my TSX yet. I think it is pretty normal and a lot of us have had this happen. Not sure why though.

Yeah same thing has happened to me as well a few times, buzzes and no start. Then it starts right up. Weird. I plan to mention it at my next service as well.

Happened to me. I know the buzzing sound you described. Your batteries are dead, jump start it. you might have left a electronic on while your car was parked

Battery is perfectly fine. We drove to the store, were in there five minutes, came out, turned the key, buzzing sound, turned the key again, buzzing sound, turned again, fired right up with no problem at all, and didn't turn over any more than once. I'm thinking it must be a Body Control Module problem or starter problem, but who knows with all the electronics on cars these days.

in that case, that's odd. haven't heard of anything like that in any car. i would definitely take it to the dealer.

might have to do something with the electronic portion of your ignition switch...

Well, we brought this up at the dealer when we were there, and of course the car started fine while it was there. When we explained the occurrence their first reaction was, it's the battery is dead, but when I told them that you take the key out, put it back in, then the car will start right up with no slow turning over or anything out of the ordinary. They were totally baffled, and were unable to find any codes or anything out of the ordinary.

I'm wondering if it's the solenoid on the starter, because you can hear it engage, but it never spins over, then the next time you try, it fires right up.
Any ideas?

It might be that the starter motor is not engaging the flywheel to crank over the engine. The buzzing sound you hear might be the starter motor spinning freely.
