04 A/C Issue

Had an issue crop up recently on my TSX. My a/c blows ice cold on the passenger side but noticeably warmer on the driver's side. Wasn't much of an issue until the temps went through the roof, now it's almost unbearable. Sometimes when I back off the accelerator cool air will come through on the driver's side, but it doesn't last. Where should I start looking, the internal temperature sensor or the blend doors? Anyone else have this problem that they were able to fix? thanks!

No regular AC systems (not individual temp control), this usually means the referigerant charge is low (stratified flow in evaporator w/ top warm and bottom cold). Additional refrigerant is the fix. You may want to do a leak check first.

good luck

I don't know if this system uses vacuum for the blend door - but your remark about cool when coasting ... ??? First have the high and low side pressures checked; it might just be low on freon per previous post.

a/c issue

took my car to a mechanic today as i'm not dealing well with the lack of a/c during the summer, turns out that a piece of debris had fallen from the cabin air filter and was stuck in the driver's side blend door. the blend door wouldn't close all of the way, leaving the air partially cooled and partially heated. problem solved and back to ice cold air again! until the compressor goes i guess LOL.

my mechanic said he recently had another tsx in the shop that had a blown compressor and the owner took it back to the acura dealer and they replaced it for free "under warranty". the mechanic said the car had over 100K so i guess he knew how to complain in the just the right way....

Does anyone know where to find this? I have the exact same problem of ice cold AC on passenger side and ambient/warm air on drivers side.
