Image Hosting

Well, I have gained quite a bit from acurazine (well the TL forum now) that I have decided it is about time I give back to you guys.

I have a large amount of disk space that I have not used at acurakid.com - so I will be happy to host your acura images upto the capacity of my server.

Very generous of you. I may require your technical assistance. I have a Sony Cyber-Shot I've used once since getting as a Christmas gift in '03 and an HP psc 2410xi photosmart all-in-one printer still sitting in a box that I bought from Costco six months ago. I'd like to post pics, but yes - I am retarded. Do I need photoshop to post pics that I take at the auto show? What is the process.

First, and most important.... GOOO PISTONS!

Ok, anyways. With your camera you should have gotten a USB cable to get the pictures from the camera onto your computer... I assume you have already done this part... correct? Yes, no maybeso?

If you have, then you need some program, any program to make the images smaller. Photoshop is the best program out there... but check out www.tucows.com for other image editing programs... you can download a 30 day trial of adobe photoshop from www.adobe.com and use that.

I will go through some of the other programs that are - hopefully free - to reduce the size of the images to a smaller size that will be easier to post.

After the images are smaller, you will simply email them to me... or well I should have waited a couple days to post this, perhaps this weekend I can come up with a better way to upload the images.... without emailing them to me.

I will get back to you guys this weekend... well actually sunday evening as acurazine will be down for the weekend from a post I just read from Soopa and Ron A

Thanks Vikram - you're a lifesaver. I was trying not to expose my noobness, but you gotta start somewhere. This step by step explanation may help other technically challenged PW's-in-training, like myself.

Paging Dr. Patel...

....Now that the 'Zine is back up and running.

Okay - so I finally hooked up my HP which has built in memory stick slots, I also have a USB cable for my Cyber-shot. Which method is better for downloading pics? Hoping to sneak out for a few hours tomorrow at lunch time and go downtown for the NAIAS. If I have time, I'll shoot some pics your way for editing.

BTW - my company has a suite at the Palace, I'll try to snag some tix for you sometime if possible. Thanks for helping a noob!

Either way is fine. I always connect the USB cable to my camera and to the computer.
Assuming your drivers are installed for the camera, you can go to my computer and open up the drive that shows up.
All your images are in there.

Simply copy and paste or drag and drop the images to a folder on your desktop.

With all due respect - the law school thread was crapped by many peeps other than myself. Allow me to publicly apologize to vikram, no malice was intended on my part.

Thanks for the tech tips - I will humbly put thee to good use.
