Question Would 6MT owners be interested in this?

I had an idea today, I was driving a ferrari the other day and it had a shift gate in it, would TSX'ers be interested in one for the TSX? I am thinking of having one made for my car and may be able to cut a deal with the machine shop if there would be a larger order once we made the first one. To give you and idea of what I am talking about I found a few pictures.

This is just a feeler, I haven't even made a prototype yet, I want to get the communities input before I go ahead with it.

I love gate shifters, but i don't think it would look right in a car that does 0-60 in 7.2

:shakehead I hate those blasted shift gates. Last couple of Ferraris and Lamborghinis that I drove absolutely drove me nuts because of those aluminum shift gates.

Polished? No, I think it would need to match the aluminum trim...

A 360 Modena I drove had a gated shifter....it was the only thing that marred an otherwise perfect driving experience. Very clunky....

Its a cool idea, but I dunno if I would like it (never driven a ferrari or anything before with a gate like that). I like the TSX shifter as it is anyway.

Ya I wouldn't minding reading a review of that. I've only ever been allowed to sit in one at a dealership, and I've ridden in one a couple times. Let's compare get a modena vs. tsx thread going. That'd elicit some quality responses.

No sarcasm here. I really wanna see it.

lol, I am not going to create a TSX vs. XXX thread, that was soooo 4 months ago....

But yes I've driven plenty of 355, 360's, 308's, monodial T, and a small handful of countach's and diablo's. I've been in the car business my whole life and have a couple friends who LOVE high end cars and now have the means to make them a reality so I get to drive and ogle all of them. Rich friends =

I like the look of the gated shifter I just can't picture it in the TSX interior, I may look into how hard it would be to have it made and try it if its easy enough just to see.

as other have said, i'm just concerned about dust/debris getting into the gates. even with the shift boot, i can see dust/debris collecting...

good input though... maybe new ideas will pop up, and new design elements will emerge...

Wouldn't a shift gate make it even easier to misshift?
