TSX High Beam mod?!?!

Hey guys,

I`ve seen some people around with TSXs that use thier high beams as foglight/driving lights without the HIDs turned on. Like the BMW 3 series. How do you set up your car to do that without making it look all messy with an aftermarket switch and stuff. I already bought some JDM yellow bulbs for the H1s they look really good when they are on, deep yellow at a distance and when you walk up to the car it changes to a purplish yelow white gold sparkling color, VERY CLEAN! Does anyone know how to make just the H1s turn on and not the HIDs?

Find out how they do it on the Canadian TSXs and wire it up accordingly. Seems like more trouble than it's worth.

The Canadians didn't wire it up themselves, all Canadian TSX's came with DRL from the factory.

The DRL's are programed in the computer. You need a HDS to reprogram it. Your dealer might be able to do it for you.

I guess I`ll check with the dealer, i have Philips 6000K D2S HID bulbs so it looks funny with them on at the same time one is like a crystal blue and the other is a deep yellow. I asked a randon cop on the street in Santa Monica during a sunny day and he said my Hi beams were fine, they are deep yellow with little glare. Thanks guys.

you're right about DRLs, but for just seperating the hi beams, I think the wiring is what makes the hi-beams and the low-beams come on at the same time. It might be an easy mod to make them seperate. Anybody know?

..I still want to see a pic of the JDM yellow h1 bulbs..

I can fathom someone wanting to put on DRLs, but specifically wanting a yellow blub?? That's unheard of. Until now I've only heard of people wanting blue bulbs, that's supposed to be the cool thing.

You want my canadian yellow bulbs? I'll trade you for some of those blue'ish Phillips ones.

I already did that with my accord a few year back. I installed DRL's and retained a functional high beam and low beam operation.
And BTW, I'm in CA....so I had to add the DRL's.
Phillips Narva GOLD H1 bulbs (not oem bulbs)
Phillips 6000k HID

when i say yellow, i dont mean the standard bulbs that come stock.

i mean YELLOW, like the foglights that come on the is300.

the dc2r has yellow foglights built into the headlights, its so bad ass.

my friend put yellow bulbs in his high beams for his accord, and just drove around with his high beams on, but it would be sweet just to be able to switch the yellow bulbs on w/o using the headlight, which you cant do right now in the tsx, b/c when you use the high beam, the headlight comes on too.

there is a spot in the fuse box that says daylight and in the owners manual it has an asterick next to the fuse and says canadian models only i would assume if you put a fuse in that spot that you would have daytime running lights i am going to try it now i will let you know

Thanks for trying.

If you can figure out how to seperate the hi-beams from the low-beams, you can basically have DRL just by leaving your hi-beams on during the day.

Hey loxllxol
How did you set it up to be seperate? Did you have to seperate the power wires? Or did you get a switch. Sometimes the bulbs can be too bright if you know what I mean ( especially on a gloomy day). I wonder is there is some way to make it dimmer by drawing less power.
