Unhappy time for a new front bumper

so ive put 4000 miles on my tsx in the past 9 days driving from kc to florida and back for spring break, while driving one of ym friends hit an unidentified object in the road, didnt seem too bad at the time, during the day the real damage was revealed and the plastic insert that goes where the foglights would be is gone and almost right below that there is a fist size dent in the bumper, if the insert was put back in it might make it much less noticeable, but regardless this needs to be fixed.

from what i found after searching is the options for a front bumper are oem, oem kit, and euro-r. are there any other front bumpers options that are available that i have not found?

even if i were to be interested in the euro-r or oem kit i do not have either and do not have the funds for side skirts or rear bumper additions and think it would look weird having a front bumper with a lower clearance than the rest of the car. does anyone have any thoughts or opinions on this? thanks for any input.

if you did just get a lip, I don't think it would look that bad. plus you would only be able to tell when looking at it from the side.

I hit a 5 gallon bucket while crossing a bridge. It put a slight dent in the front bumper, near the bottom but I also lost one of the black fog light covers, like you did. I was able to purchase one from my dealership. I think it was around $15.00.

Hope you had a good time in Florida.....

Other full bumper replacements include Mugen (2 options) and Spoon.

A brand new fresh painted oem bumper should be just under $800 from a local body shop, so just know that's an option too, for a little less than a whole kit.

If you were to get one of the kits you mentioned, they are all high-quality pieces, and I don't think just putting the front piece on would look bad. There was someone on here that put a new lower bumper on their second car- a white U.S.-Accord, and it looked really nice. That is the way I would prefer to do it. You can also add the fogs in if its not an 06/07 TSX. There is a Mugen bumper too, correct?

Can you post some pictures from spring-break? They're always fun to look at.

Good luck.

i realize that most of the options for the 04 are just lips, which is an additional piece, i plan on getting the fog light insert grill thingie that was mentioned above for $15 which will make a big difference. i will try and take a couple of pics of it, also just noticed this as well. my left muffler is definitely not straight either, i am assuming that this all happened in the same incident as the line up from the front to back of the car.

my pass side exhaust tip is TOUCHING my rear bumper, i noticed the walking out to my car and noticing that it was slightly off. i am going to take pictures right now, it is wet, cold, and overcast and i am pretty busy so i do not feel like inspecting it very much but the hanger is still connected it just appears to have been slightly bent, my main concern is the heat of the tip damaging my rear bumper. it does not appear to be damaged/melted and has almot 1500 miles on the car since the incident but i just got this car less than 2 months ago and am getting angered at all of this happening. hopefully the exhaust can be bent back to as straight as possible.

pics to come in 15 minutes, assuming that i can find a camera around my house.

also, have no pictures from spring break as my camera broke the week before we left, but it was very fun.

i posted the pics in the photograph gallery here https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?p=678094

after looking at the exhaust more it looks as if there is a broken or bent hanger possibly, once it dries up a bit and i have more time i am going to lift it up and look at the entire underbody for more damage and to see if i can find where exactly the exhaust is bent or damaged.

hopefully i get this fixed soon, the friend that was driving while this happened does not have any money(we just got back from spring break, couldnt expect us to have money when 100 ounce margaritas cost $50 in south beach )
but im hoping that he is able to figure something out so that this can be fixed as soon as possible. id like to start doing some stuff to it once it gets a tad bit warmer and want it to be damage free for summer.

im assuming that the cheapest way to fix this is to buy the oem bumper from an online oem parts retailer and then have the bumper painted at a body shop. and the most expensive way would be to buy it direct from dealer and have them paint it.
does anyone have personal experience with any online oem retailers? i searched the forums and found a couple of different oem parts sites that all pretty much had the same price for the front bumper cover but was unsure if this was a smart idea. any input is greatly appreciated. i dont want to go the cheap way and cut corners but also want to get the most inexpensive price and have not really heard of anything bad or good about any of the online retailers. you guys got any ideas?

sorry about all the typing, i feel like my posts are way too long most of the time but always want to make sure i include everything and dont miss any details as i love my tsx and want to keep it in the condition it is in

The easiest, and most trouble-free way to get a new bumper is to go 100% through a local body shop. They can get new and reconditioned bumpers, whichever you choose, and will be responsible for the paint matching.

DO NOT go to dealer, unless you like paying extra. Sourcing it online will be hit-or-miss, and the body/paint shop likely won't guarantee it.
