Shift Knob

I have a 04 TSX with a manual transmission, and the crome paint on the shift knob is coming off. It started looking scratched a few weeks after I got it, and now it looks horrible. I don't wear rings or anything. Is this normal? Has this happened to anyone else? Can anyone recommend a good replacement knob, preferrably one that's solid metal?

Thanks

I used mine for about 6 months and I didn't have any trouble. I got an OEM all aluminum type r knob from honda now. I've had it for a year and a half and no trouble there either. maybe you should go with an acurazine knob.

I've had my 6MT for just over two years now...my shift knob probably has 20-25 dents! And yes, I do wear one ring rather regularly on my right hand...

I figure I can always replace the knob one of these days...

If you are still in warranty, they'll replace it.

Mine isn't too bad, but then again, I'm waiting for the Acurazine knob since I saw one in person last year.

The acurazine knob not available yet? I thought dom showed that to me on last meet. I am still on the fence on that. I like the look of the oem knob, I really like the how the leather wrap around it but I also want a heavier knob that like the acurazine knob. I wish I can have the acurazine knob that will look close to the oem knob, I will be all over it! BTW, my oem knob is still in prefect shape after 20 months.

All I wear is my wedding band, so I'm not sure how mine got that way either. I sat in my seat when I did the Short Shifter mod and it was already scratched/chipped (just on the clearcoat) before I did my shifter base bushings.

Not telling how....

Can someone post me a link to the acurazine shift knob? I found this one in someone else's post and it looks like what I want. I wonder if these get really hot in the summer...

Does anyone know if the shift knob from the 04+ TL 6MT will fit an 06 TSX 6MT?

I just picked up my Carbon Grey TSX last night (traded the 04 TL) and I miss the shift knob (and the power - but not the torque steer). The TSX is way more fun!
