Scan Tool Comparison?

Which Scan Tool that is capable of clearing CEL's is the best bang for your buck. Brockway R920, G Tech or any other. I will be buying one soon and your insight is appreciated.

Around $100 with shipping included. I will want to identify codes and erase CEL only. I'm really not too interested in A/F and temps etc.

Thanks.

It sounds like you want a standalone unit... A quick search from my favorite tool place came up with this one. This one displays the actual trouble code data instead of just the code.

The same scan tool is slightly cheaper on eBay. It might even be the same merchant.

Those look good. I also saw the GS 300 and GS 400 on ebay. These can be shipped within Canada from British Columbia, so I would'nt pay duties or customs fees. Anyone bought any of these....... Princess Auto sells them for $299.00 but their $100.00 on ebay.

Sounds like you really want an Actron or Equus basic unit. Both companies make ~$50 readers that will give you the code and the option to clear it. I keep an Equus in my glove box.

That is better than the code display only units. It's frustrating to display the code and don't know what it means, and only to see it come back after clearing it.
