Replacing muffler

Louder as in exhaust louder....

I would like to get new exhaust but its $$ I would rather put elsewhere right now. I was thinking of taking off my driver side muffler and replacing it with a steel straight pipe to give it a louder deeper sound. and from there I would weld some thick chrome exhaust tips on it (that is if I like the sound)

my grandpa has done this to two of his cars for a lil trick, a Cadillac El Dorado and other crap but the Cadi sounds good! He said they first changed both exhausts but it was way too loud.- so now he just has it on one.

Anybody heard of this or done it?

There is a sub-category on this board we have titled "Parts & Performance." Within that section, there are threads where other users post their input and requests regarding this specific section of automotive interest. Through the use of the "search" feature of this forum, one can specify the parameters to which the search will execute. With impressive ease, the search engine will return a number of potential results that may yield a proper bit of insight that can support the user's inquiry. Through the implementation of this process, one can easily avoid MAKING THEMSELVES LOOK LIKE A MORON EVERYTIME THEY POST.

I'd watch it if I were you. I've already had you temp-banned. You wanna make it a perma-ban?

As for my input, I have been nothing short of a GREAT contributor to this forum. Of my few thousand posts in just over 2 years, over half of them have directly helped support the community. My technical and professional insight has guided many owners and potential owners in a number of ways. My expertise is more than just unique, it is inconventional. Call my wisdom into question again, and you shall feel the wrath. I beckon thee to reconsider the previous statement.

Regarding my feelings toward life, I'm just fine. I don't hate it. I go through each day in my own manner. Not that you have any idea about the ongoings of my life (especially as of late), but you may wish to cease to make such posts.

I am sure you did help out a lot of people but because I ask one thing you dont like you threaten to perm ban me? What kind of shit is that?

I WILL BE THE FIRST TO ADMIT THAT I DONT KNOW EVERYTHING. And whenever I OR OTHERS ask a question that some of you know, you jump down their throats like their idiots! I want to learn thats why I ask. I know I should search more and I apologize for that but come on now, sometimes its just asinine how some you act.

I will be the first to say that I do. Hence the term "omnipotent" in my user title.

I am infamous for not using search which I vow I will start!
I am a noob and dont know too much about cars so when I first joined the site I would just ask questions (and of course they were probably basic and always would turn up on a search)
I said a few not so nice things to some others and got banned. I apologize for my actions and am now back on the site and still not OMNICIENT, of course I can admit that. Yet there are still so many people on here who are so negative.

Well if thats the case then give me your guided wisdom. Thats what I want. I don't know as much about cars as you do and I just wanted some help, this all did not need to turn into some huge stiffy bash

Stiffy, you have to admit you post some pretty dumb stuff at times. And it dosent help that you YELL AT EVERYONE IN ALMOST ALL OF YOUR POSTS.

You've been here since January and you dont know what a "muffler" does for your car? C'mon...

Just take the time to read about things first before posting. People get annoyed with you because you ask questions that have been answered many times over. And when you get answers (sarcastic or not), you follow up with the CAPS LOCK and question the answers.

Uh oh. :draggedkickingandscramingintotheconfrontation:

Sometimes its not fair the way people on this site treat other. Especially in O/T. But, if you're more careful about posting in the correct subforum and search the topic before asking the question then you won't be so left open for people taking shots at you. Newbies are given more lattitude but you've been around. I guess it doesn't help when you take on Kurt or Dan since they've been around and very helpful to others. On the other hand, it seems that folks are less willing to cut you some slack.

Plus, talking about a chop job on your TSX like you saw on an old Caddy just doesn't seem right.
