Offical list to reflash the 2007/2008 TSX AT/MT
#281
They have reflashes for the 02-04 base RSX and they introduced the RDX reflash recently. While I think it's awesome what they are doing for the tuning industry, I still think there is more of a demand for the 07,08 TSX than for a base RSX.

Maybe it is a sign of things to come with upcoming Acura/Honda's model line up?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I feel as if I'm beating a dead horse on this forum, considering Hondata is so tight-lipped about their products. Whether details aren't shared for trade-secret or legal reasons I'm not sure, but some insight into things would be absolutely awesome here. Because I can't seem to tune the '07 TSX whatsoever (don't have a K-Pro, which I'd really prefer, I don't have a Reflash, don't have any of the fun Hondata goodies that even make tuning possible,) I've decided to play around with ECUs. From what I've found online, the part number on the '07 ECU is 37820-RBB-A21, while the old '06 ECU is A04. The A04 is currently flashable while the A21 appears never to be (for some reason unknown to me, as I don't have both ECUs sitting in front of me.)
Pretty much, I should be able to swap the A21 where the A04 is, and retain usable functionality, minus the TPMS technology. But why the lack of 'recommendation' in this case? Is it simply for liability reasons, or are the fuel / cam / other engine control maps really different between the A04 and/or A21 ECUs? I take it you guys have been able to mess around with both of them, and unless the A21 is a total black-box, have some idea of the functionality both of them have.
I guess I have two options: try it and see if my K24 goes boom (which likely it won't) or go get something F22C-powered instead. Or, maybe, in a rare case, Hondata will shed some light onto the A04/A21 disparity. (Maybe I can also dream of a K-Pro that works properly with the TSX?) '

I think the best way for us the consumer to gain anything from Hondata, or anything for our cars to tune would be for a rival company to start up. They need competition to do anything.

here is some random/interesting information about the differences between the RSX and TSX ecu's. maybe it's old knowledge, but i stumbled across it perusing . it has more to do with k-pro, but it still explains the differences between ecus.
'It is our observation that Honda is internally broken down into Civic/Integra and Prelude/Accord camps. The Civic/Integra line used much the same ECU, mostly B series engines, similar wiring harness etc which made life easy. The Prelude/Accord camp did the same stuff differently (usually worse) and the ECUs were completely different. Now the Integra/Civic line has adopted the K series engine (remember that acura & RSX only exist in the US for marketing purposes) and the TSX seems to designed by a different group of people - who are now the TSX/Accord camp. Hence one engine, two different ECUs.'

it still hasn't been that long since the 07 release. i'm still going to hope for it, but i'm really lowering my expectations. in the meantime, i think i'll get some engine bolt-on mods like a header next year.

Anyone heard anything new?
on a side note, I found a reflash for my 328... trouble is that you only get an 11hp kick out of it for $599... these bimmers are so resistant to upgrades. oh well.
You guys should all throw a party when Hondata finally comes out with one for the TSX

i have not heard anything.
but i did find that the TL supposedly has a reflash that's still in the works (in the TL forum), and the fit's ecu is reprogrammable so a reflash is possible (hondata forum).
:sigh: i really wish there was an option for us.

when someone asked about the fit ecu they said they had 'many other projects to round off before considering new vehicles.'
i would guess that k-pro for the 2006+ civics and any sort of reflash/k-pro for the s2k might be the projects they're referring to? but i'd love to know if the TSX 07+ reflash is lumped in that group. i'm afraid to ask. they don't like ppl calling. they don't like ppl emailing. they don't like ppl rallying friends or lists.

I still find it hard to believe that Hondata works this way. They are really upset/annoyed that people try contacting them to let them know we like they're company and would like a product made for our car? Some of these posts make it sound like Hondata will come in the middle of the night and "off" us if we bother them too much.

can't speak for how hondata prioritizes their projects.
but i'd imagine probably 1/2 the ppl on this reflsh list have forgotten about it. just b/c we have 68+ interested doesn't necessarily mean even 1/2 will commit. that's just the law of averages.
all you can do is wait. unless someone wants to just ask them in a civil fashion if they're still considering a reflash for the 07+.
otherwise, just hope if there happens to be a k-pro option for the new civics, the TSX might benefit from that breakthrough. it's a lot of if's and hopes.

maybe this is a good thing? hondata voids the warranty dont they? so i guess it's good that its not out yet because i wouldnt want to void my warranty. i want to atleast wait until my warranty is up to fully do whatever i want with the tsx

they wont answer you 925... they always beat around the bush o they don't have to actually say " We have better shit to do that mess with the 07/08 TSX's.
I've emailed them 5 seperate times and called twice... always the same answer.
"We don't comment on future products before they are finished"
too bad they're losing customers in the process... i'm not buying one anymore

it doesn't void your warranty if the dealership doesn't know about it. and if you're getting a reflash, i'm sure you have other mods already in your car that the dealership can accuse of voiding your warranty.
badger: lol, being that you now have a bimmer, i wouldn't expect you to purchase anything from hondata.

i've mentioned this before, but i haven't updated the list over in the hondata forum since the new year, largely b/c i don't want to piss hondata off anymore than they might already be for having a list started (which they may find as combative or pressure). that wasn't the intention of the list. it was merely to show the interest so that they wouldn't forget the 07+.
as for the 06 ecu working in the 07's, i think someone has mentioned that they called hondata and asked if it would work and they said they wouldn't recommend it, leading one to believe that the ecu's are different. but if you try it and it works, let us know.

why not just buy the 06 ECU first, and see if it works in the 07 before reflashing?
it would save a lot of trouble and money. you'd need the new ecu, but then you'd also need to pair it with your current immobilizer.
