this has been covered before. the 06 ecu differs from the 07/08's. the addition of the TPMS in the 07/08's is the only difference we know of so far.

someone has asked hondata in the past if you can swap them, and they did not recommend it.

Sorry, I don't see how a list of names will convince a company to dedicate time and labor to R&D a product for a relatively small market of buyers. How many people on this list are still interested anyway? We see similar list for group buys all the time and how many people actually end up buying?

However, if every person on this list actual prepaid for the reflash, then that might provide some R&D funding and Hondata might take this request more seriously.

i totally agree, when it comes to these lists, you'll be lucky to have half the people on it actually commit. but it's just worth a try to show there is interest nonetheless.

you mentioned the relative small market of buyers--i wonder how many 04-06 owners have actually purchased the reflash, and whether that actually impacts their decision to not reflash the 07/08, if it's strictly a result of a change in ecus, or there are more pressing projects in the pipeline (or maybe all these factors).

What makes you guys think a TSX reflash is being held back because of demand?

They won't take your money in advance either because it wouldn't make sense business wise or financially. They would have more unearned revenue than it's worth for not having the product developed yet. So because it would be unearned revenue it creates a liability for their books and also as mentioned above people would be even more impatient waiting for a product that they already paid for.

I would like to see this through. Although the TSX isn't in my hands at the moment. I just turned to the dark side and picked up an 04' S2000. I'll get the reflash for it if it ever sees the light of day.

looks like the '05 auto tsx's will soon have their reflash, which some said would 'never happen'. now only the '07s and '08s do not have the reflash. once hondata figures it out, they've got $50,000+ in sales just from this list!

Ya hondata sounds nice, but we dont want a reflash, we want something programmable like Kpro...

My buddies up here had a Dyno meet... and the 06+ models had more power than the 04-05 models with Hondata, pulleys, Intake, Exhaust, Headers.

With Honddata, you loose the BIG Vtec push at 6000 RPM... Yea ok with hondata you hit VTEC at 5000 instead of 6000, and ya the redline is increased...
But the guys with Hondata said you dont hear Vtec anymore because the curve of the power band is soo smooth. check out the Hondata website...

* 4850 rpm VTEC point decreased from 6000 rpm
* 7600 rpm rev limit (sportshift mode only in the auto)
* Maximum torque gain 28 ft/lbs torque at 6000 rpm (24 ft/lbs auto)
* Maximum power gain 32 hp at 6000 rpm (28 hp auto)
* Peak torque increases from 165ft/lbs at 4700 rpm to 168 ft pounds at 4700 rpm
* Peak power increases from 201 hp at 7100 rpm to 204 at 6800 rpm (up to 8hp - auto)
* Very wide flat smooth torque curve. 90% of peak torque available from 2000-7000 rpm.
* Fully dealer compatible - works with all Honda scan tools and equipment

youll get 204 HP after hondata... thats ghey, youll get more just buying I/H/E

add hondata with the i/h/e mods, and you'll yield even better gains.

look, ppl on here are interested in the reflash b/c of any of the following reasons:

1. it's a good bang-for-the-buck: how much does a full I/H/E set up cost? at least $1K or north of that if you're getting quality parts, and that doesn't even include installation if ppl don't go the diy route. hondata reflash is only $599 and produces immediate results and then you can add whatever other mods you want to add some power. nothing against k-pro. it's great, and everyone swears by it. but it only works for ppl with manual trannys, and it's over $1K.

2. it's already out for the 04-06 TSX: yes, the ecu for the 07/08 is different, and yes, there are probably development costs, time, etc.. involved b/c it's a different ecu, but they cracked the earlier years. it'd just be nice if they did it for the remaining 07/08's.

3. plug-and-play: not everyone is a hardcore tuner. some ppl just want some added power to their car, and the reflash is a great solution. people who want a more-tuneable option want k-pro. but if you read around, k-pro isn't a simple option b/c of the DBW feature in our car.

just b/c you don't feel v-tec anymore doesn't mean your power has been robbed, and it doesn't mean that k-pro is some better solution.
