OBX 4-2-1 Headers for TSX

Has anybody ever heard of OBX Racing? Their headers look nearly identical to that of DC header, only they're made of stainless steel. They did a pretty good job on welding as well. I'm thinking of buying these instead of Comptech Headers. Any advices, suggestions?

Don't ever get em even if your life depends on it.

You get what you pay for. You're not going to pay much for OBX and therefore you run the risk of not getting much in return. Some ppl have had OBX headers with no problems but a lot of people have had OBX headers with a lot of problems. I personally would not any OBX part on my car but it is up to you. Just get the DC Sports or Comptech header.

After Selanne_2001's experience as the guinea pig, I wouldn't even touch that OBX header. Go with DC or Comptech.

And it helps that Excelerate has good deals over at the Black Market section for both those Headers!

I had obx headers on my accord, basically a ss copy of the $1300 comptech and the gains were decent. Build quality and fitment were terrible.

Can anyone say anything definitive about the durability and reliability of ceramic coated headers though? DC is the better header in terms of gains, but the weld problem, ceramic coating, etc cause me to think twice about getting them (and the weld problems go further back than our TSX's- many integra's had the same problem). Comptech's cost/benefits isn't great enough for me to want those either- only slight gain, but good material and build quality. I was hoping for the best of both worlds with these OBXs, but I can't trust it now.

I mean, with the DC headers, is a question of not if but WHEN is it going to fail, be it the weld or failure of the ceramic coating? So is it 50k, 100k before any of these things happens?

Ceramic coating is great and durable. I lasted my DC header for over 200k in my last Accord. When I got rid of the car, the header was still in great condition even after 200k.

Thanks, that sounds pretty dang durable. Did you drive under any conditions that would undermine the headers durability (i.e drive on gravel roads, road salt, wrapped headers, etc). Is/was the coating easily scuffed on your accord?

The ceramic stayed despite a LOT of road salt.

Just don't touch the header with your greasy hands. When it cooks the oil from our skin on the ceramic coating it becomes.
