Smile Injen Vacuum

I decided it was time to clean my Injen's filter and re-oil it so I did just that. After you spray on the cleaning solution you have to wash the filter under running water. Before you can oil it, you need to make sure that the filter is perfectly dry. I didn't want to wait all day for the thing to dry out so I got a little resourceful....

I bet I have the fastest vaccum in the east.

It worked like a charm too. That filter was bone dry in 5 minutes.

Nice idea how many miles did you go till you cleaned it?

people are saying about 10k miles?

I'd think of using a blowdryer haha.

That's about right. It's the first time I cleaned it and I installed it last July. The filter wasn't even all that dirty and the inside was spotless which is a good thing.

It says not to use compressed air. This was the exhaust of a vacuum cleaner distributed evenly over the filter's surface. It's no more harmful than running at WOT in your car.

You're right about that, Dan....

....but aren't you shooting yourself in the foot by running your vac through it? I mean, overall you're trying to CLEAN the filter, right?

Clutch, who's not looking forward to cleaning HIS filter...

I'm working on something that involves removing my intake for a while so it's in SRI mode for now but good things are on the horizon.

I don´t know if you have it there in States, but in europe we have a detergent for washing dishes, called Fairy Ultra. That´s the best thing to clean the filters with. Every other "original" filter cleaner can not even get close to it. And for drying I´m using my girlfriends hair-drier, works fine. But you have to be careful not to get too close and melt the filter. And I´m sure, any other dish- washing detergent would do better than the original cleaner.
