Injen with bypass valve? INJENTECH?
I know a lot of ppl have the INJEN intake...but does anyone have it with a bypass valve? I called my local performance shop and they said they can install a INJEN intake w/bypass valve for $245...anyone have pix or know about this? thanks!

Yup, the AEM CAI has a bypass option...I was going to wait for that but it seems like AEM will not be making a CAI for the TSX...
where i live we get seasonal flooding from rainstorms so a bypass valve is a must for me...i've already had to drive thru DEEP puddles twice since I got here and i'm not taking any chances with a standard CAI

i don't know how AEM can state that when Injen and K&N both have CAIs that add more HP then the AEM SRI...

oh...you guys were talking about rumor...
actually i e mailed AEM before, and they claimed that AEM V2 will be put into the production line in the near future (i know their website says that SRI is the only system for TSX), ya...but somehow AEM decided to make the V2 later on

bypasss... is it necessary?
I e-mailed Injen to ask about the water socking problem.. they replies me to indicate that... you need to drive in a pond of water deeper than 14 inches.... to make the intake to sock in water... which means. it will be higher than the bottom seal of the door... if you intend to drive somewhere that deep.. you should worry about more things.... first of all... can you still open the door and stuff... and by driving this deep... may parts will be soaked with water.... as far as I know... people usually avoid driving into a 14 inchs dee pond right...
so is it necessary to put a byPass at all... jsut wondering...

when i said DEEP pond before, the water did come up to the door seals. i was driving home from work and for some reason there was traffic...when i finally got thru i saw why, there was a large pond, prolly about 2-3 cars long and 3 lanes wide(raining for a few days). cars were slowly driving thru and naturally i hesitated as well...i saw one car to my right pull ahead and the water went up to the door seals. at first i was like fk, my car is lowered so i hope water doesnt seep in...but i was already in a no-backup situation, divider to left and car behind me so i just pressed on the gas and crossed my fingers. suprisingly no water seeped in and thankful i didn't have a CAI

I hope that it would never happen to me though... cause I have a CAI... well.. but have you ever measured how tall the 14 inches are?... it's 1 and half inch taller than the center of the rim (I am talking about if you still have the same size as stock)... I hope it will never that hardcore in WA... I will just park close to the side of the road and turn on my flash to pretend my car broke down.. ha ha ha... I would rather stay there whole night... never would want run though that kind of pond with my car...

i mean, everyone on the board when it comes to hydrolocking says 'well, ill never run into water THAT deep', but people, thats why they call them accidents.
my friend has a Mazda6s with an Injen CAI. he was driving here an SD while it was raining, turned a corner, BAM! huge puddle, like, water splashed up on his windshield.
this situation really wasnt avoidable because it was on a side street at night. how was he to know around the corner the street had flooded?
anyways, long story short he turned his CAI into a silly straw and hydrolocked his engine. he filed an insurance claim saying the damage was caused to his engine by flooding (which, technically, it was) and had the entire block replaced after filing a comp claim (about $12,000 in parts/labor).
anywho, long story short, getting a bypass might not be such a bad idea. i mean, odds are 1 in 100,000 that you'll flood to the point it'll be used, but man, if you're that one, you'll thank god you have it.

plus $40 extra NOW for bypass versus hours filing a claim Later on was my logic in getting a bypass NOW
