Greddy SP2 Inside Volume

For those of you with an SP2 installed, I am looking for some feed back as to the cabin volume you have experienced as I am finding that since installing this 3 days ago the volume of the exhaust on the freeway completely overpowers my stereo system on the freeway while cruzing between 60 and 80 mph. Considering the investment I made in dynamatt I cannot see myself keeping this exhaust very long as the "drone" is not enjoyable.

Back to my first sentence I am curious what others have experienced as I am wondering of this is typical or if maybe I don’t have something installed quite right. I don’t have any leaks but am wondering of I need to be looking at how the rubber hangers are positioned and or maybe wrapping the mufflers in a hi-temp material similar to dynamat. I did allot of research on exhaust before I bought the SP2 as most of the feedback stated that it was one of the quietest AM exhausts out there and had a nice deep note.

Feedback from Greddy SP2' owners would be greatly appreciated.

I have the SP2 + Test Pipe + AEM Intake + Headers and it has a nice deep natural rumble to it. It is very smooth and not at all raspy.

Weird thing is, it's actually quietest while you're cruising at highway speeds. I'm not sure why you're setup has a drone.

I test-drove my buddy's TSX w/ Comptech Header + Comptech Icebox w/ Evo SP2 on it. It sounds so nice that I want one too. I'm just debating will it sounds more loud w/ my High-flow cat. Sound is so subjective and everyone acceptance is different... good luck.

The quietest exhaust is probably the Comptech cat back, I have that on my car and honestly in the car i can't even hear it accept at a slow start from a stop. On the freeway it sounds completely stock and really laying into it my intake over powers it, but RT cat is in the mail, we'll see what that does.

i would have to say the Mugen is the best exhaust all round in terms of sound and useability. abosolutely no drone..but you can induce a sound by pressing the loud pedal....no droning at any speed.

also the drone is probably due to the header you have on as well.

Did you install the silencers in the tailpipes? moda_way mentioned he has to use the silencers to quiet it down.

Please let us know how much louder it gets after the RT Cat install. I'm guessing that's going to make it quite a big louder.

I've driven one with the EVO2. It also had an Injen CAI and Maxim headers in it. The sound was good. Much better than something like the HKS Silent Hi power which drones. If the SP2 is quieter than the EVO2, then it would be very livable.

Yeah, but according to a few sources, a high flowing cat, like the RT cat, will increase the exhaust tone dramatically. I remember reading somewhere that the Greddy SP2 + RT cat was as loud as the DC Sports exhaust.
