Dummy Switches

I've been looking around to find out how to punch of the dummy switches on the left of the steering column next to the sunroof and vsa button. Can anyone help me with this. I feel it is a question for someone who isn't competent enough to be doing his own mods to his car, but it really isn't that difficult. My most difficult problem with the mod is going to be the firewall i'm guessing :/

But yea....my question is how to tap out the dummy switches

thanks

Also...
I know where the firewall hole is...I found it....but how in the world do you get something through it??? I saw another thread from a while back that attempted, but I am still at a loss of how to get a wire through.

Where the switches are, you remove that whole section and the blank comes out from pressing the clips from the rear. You have to take that panel out.

I did this yesterday, use a flat screw driver and pop the whole panel out.

There is a good picture here

What mod are you installing?? If it's a switch for fogs, there's a wire already ran through the firewall that you can use. No need to run one through the firewall itself.

I decided to have some fun and copy my sister. I'm installing LED "neon" lights on my underbody and wheel wells, and I need to run the wires through for the module.

Ok, so the panel picture/thread link in here helped, but I'm am still having the hardest time finding how to/where to put the wires through and where each end of the firewall hole is. If somebody had some pictures, or easy methods to run wires through here, and where to start...that would be great.

I didn't expect it to be easy...shortcuts or a 'pass go' card would be nice....but big picture wise...I'm just trying to find where the firewall hole/tube begins. I see the firewall hole, but do you have to split into the tube going thru it to feed a wire or is the a for lack of better terms 'beginning' and 'end' of the tube you start from??

I'm not gonna pay for someone to do it for me....sorry. I'm just not.

Just make another slit in the firewall grommet and feed the wire through. I've fed through 2x 1/4" tubes through the grommet for air suspension.

I just took a coat hanger and punched it through and then taped the wires to the coat hanger and pull it back. Simple.

theres a boot towards the pasenger side. that you can pull out
pull that off. run the wire through. it'll come out right under the glove.
then go back and put a slit in the boot and you can reseal it

you'd then have to run through the compartment under the hu. and up towards the switches..

tada

I poked a hole through the grommet in the fire wall to make the power for my system go through. I used a long flat screw driver to do so.
