Comptech Sway Bar Impressions

I put my sway in 3 days ago and so far i'm really enjoying it. I can't say that's it's too noticeable if you are just putting around town but if you push your car there is a big difference. I'm still on stock tires and springs and I've noticed that through some turns that I used to get a lot of understeer and some tire squeal i'm now able to make the same turn without pushing out as far and tire squeal seems to be less.

I haven't ran through any really high speed turns yet(making sure everything stays intact) but from what i've fealt it seems alittle more stable. I used to get a little bit of bounce in the suspension when really pushing it at higher speeds. That seems to be minimized...i'll update later when i've had a chance to run it a little more.

So far two fingers up!

I actually got mine installed more or less by myself. Just make sure you have a 5mm hex and an open ended 12mm...a box wrench would be easiest. The endlinks on mine had a little rust on them so they were tough to get off.

When it's time to put the new bar in I reccomend unbolting the two 10mm bolts on the air difuser in the rear. It will then hang down out of the way making install of the new one easy. I would set aside a couple hours to do it. If i had to it again it would be quick.

Have you noticed less body roll?

Glad to hear there is less understeer. You should probably take the car PAST its limit in a parking lot or something so you know what to expect , and get a better feel for ther car, etc.

I've defnitely noticed less roll when really pushing it. The tsx body roll stock is quite good until you really go hard then you can feel it lift on the back end. This is defnitely improved. You still get a hint of it but it's magnitude is much less. Feels very much more settled when pushing it hard.

In terms of taking to the limit I know I defnitely need to. At one point I took a left turn through and intersection that transitions grade a bit too fast and got a tail wag I think that was more a factor of all 4 weels sliding due to poor asphalt. An oversteering fwd car is probably the easiest combo in existence to recover.

I suppose I should say I really don't know if it handles all that much better in terms of absolute numbers like skidpad and slalom. I would guess it would but have no way to really test it. But it feels very much better and I would guess it's easier to recover if you run into any problems.

Tinky, don't worry about skidpad and slalom, those don't say everything. A car that feels like its on the edge at 70% of it's grip capacity is more annoying than a car that goes up to 95% before giving you the heads up you're close to the edge.

update: had my second oversteer experience. Car definitely understeers less now. It's pretty fun to get all four wheels sliding

I think that the sway bar just made my list of future mods.
