Cold Cathode Licence Plate Lights

So, did my research, ended up on the CL boards. I NEED those license plate lights that the new lexus IS's have..they are amazing, I have tried all the ebay people and seen pictures of all the ones on the forum, but for some reason, the ones on the lexus' are just so much more superior. Found out they arent LED's, they are 'Cold Cathode's. Lexus is charging an arm an a leg for them (180 for the pair). Just wondering if anyone knows where we can get them cheaper?

I've tried the LED's and they suck big time and don't last. If these are much more reliable I'd go for them.

Really? I think the LED you bought just sucks. I don't think Lexus use CC for their License Plate light, it still LED, but a better built of course, Lexus quality?

Mine is on for a whole year, and they shown no sign of dimming. And no cops are pulling me over too cause I think the LED are bright enough to shine thru the tinted cover license plate.

BTW: Mine are construct as 3 LED on each side, so 6 LED total for my License plate.

final question on my side: superbrightleds.com WLED-WHP or Hoen Usa? Same price, just wondering if someone was deciding between those two, and picked one over the other..

It's custom made from a guy @ TAC Forum.

There are 3 LEDs horizontally sitting on a tiny circuit board, then the circuit board has a plug that goes to the other end (Original plug from the car). I have 1 on each side, so total 6 LEDs for the rear license plate.

I have compare w/ the IS350 rear and the brightness is about the same, but mine is a bit more blue. The picture above don't do the justice because I have a smoke (dark) tinted license plate cover.
