hmm, the brackets are certainly diff than the ingalls unit and they look more rigid as well. nice find, give it a try ...
oh, call em to see what there return policy is if the unit doesn't fit properly with your current modifications

...To be honest, I haven't heard many good things about Weapon R stuff (from what I've seen, their intakes are rather shoddy). Still, if this ETD does work without fitment/quality issues, I'll definitely grab one.
That begs the question...who's going to be the guinea pig for this sucker???

I just ordered this.
FYI, I found it cheaper.

$159 shipped.
Will post pictures and impressions once it arrives and is in the car.

I had the Ingalls installed last August for a week or so. It did reduce wheel hop, as well as made shifts feel more solid, and generally gave the car a little more pep off the line. However I couldn't live with the metal-on-metal contact sound from the brackets hitting the ABS motor, A/C lines, and Cusco strut bar mounting bracket, so I took it off and returned it.
I'm hoping the Weapon-R unit somehow resolves the three above issues (I do plan to mount it along with some foam tubing around the A/C lines when I do the install, however.)

Mounting points almost have to be the same as the Ingalls ETD. Passenger side engine mount (near the pulley) and the strut bar mount. I'd be absolutely astonished if it were any different. The only encouraging thing is it doesn't LOOK like the engine mount bracket will interfere with the ABS motor on this model.
I'll have pics of everything as soon as this part gets to me.

i had one of these on my mazdaspeed protege, it rattled like a mother. someone on the mazda forums took it apart and all it is inside is a hard rubber bushing. they claim it is adjustable, but how can you adjust a rubber bushing?

Whoever asked if I have aftermarket pulleys, no, not yet.
Update:
So far I have received no communication at all about my order from RSAPerformance, and have told them that if they don't say SOMEthing to me today I am disputing the charge with PayPal.
Their phone just rings indefinitely and they don't respond to emails or IMs. I'm getting really pissed off. They have my $159 and are stonewalling me.
Add in the $136 tint ticket I got this morning on the way to work and I'm really not a happy camper today.

That's pretty much my plan, haha. If I don't hear from these idiots by the time I leave work today I'm refuting the charges on PayPal and using that money to pay the tithe.
I knew I should have rolled down my windows when I passed that seatbelt checkpoint. Stupid.

I had a Weapon-R ETD on my Civic. It was junk. I paid $90 to some ebay loser who claimed the thing was a hydraulic damper ($90 sounded pretty good for that). It was a brand new product at the time and the internets didn't have much to say about it yet. From what I understand it's the type of construction used in all the ETDs, two rubber bushings fixed to a shaft that rides in a carrier tube. The movement of the shaft in the carrier is limited by the amount of space the rubber bushings can move before they hit the ends of the carrier. This is adjustable.
Mine broke shortly after I installed it. The shaft has a metal plate spot welded in the middle then the rubber pieces go on either side of that plate. The spot welds were really shitty and popped. I had my neighbor fix it up right.
If I adjusted the the 'damper' to be tighter in transferred a ton of vibration into the chassis. If I made it 'softer' it would just move freely until it ran of room room then slam to halt usually bouncing back and forth very rapidly for a second or two. It did help with the wheel hop but it's effects on the ride quality were deleterious. I would never A) pay more $30 for another one or B) let it befoul the ride quality of my TSX.
These devices should not really be called engine torque dampeners. There is no dampening. A more apt name would be an engine movement limiter. If some one were to build a true hydraulic damper, I'd probably pay a couple hundred for it. I considered trying to fab one up out of a motorcycle steering damper but I suspect the amount of force generated by the engine would easily destroy it. At upwards of $400 for the steering damper, that's an expensive experiment.

if the brackets for the weapon R version had better fitment and money wasn't an issue, too bad you can't mix/match parts, ie. the WR brackets and the ingalls damper. haha.
hope you get your money back audioserf.

I just read all the posts in this thread. good thing you are returning this audioserf. I posted some other info on the other forum from a SRT4 forum about how someone had to actually modify this thing to fit their car even though it was supposidly made for the SRT4. FRom all these posts, I would definitely recommend staying away from all Weapon-R products. Period.
The Weapon-R CAI I had did it's job. Not the greatest fitment and the filter started falling apart after two years but it was only $30. If you're looking for cheap parts and are willing to get your hands dirty picking up where they left off, their stuff is alright.
I wouldn't go with anything like that on my TSX though.

I was issued a full refund by RSA Performance as my order had not shipped yet.
Glad I bailed on that thing while the getting was good.
My perception of WeaponR as a worthless ricer company remains unaltered. The fact that they sell a "race header" for the TSX is hilarious to me. Talk about a leap of faith on that thing...
