What price are you paying for 2006 TSX ???
#961
???
I never asked to see the "papers" for the car or any "evidence." I simply asked a couple of times for some information regarding how you were able to get the car for that price: info about dealer, how you negotiated, etc..
The whole point (as far as I am concenred) of a message board community such as this is to share information. It is of little value to keep hearing that you got this great price on the car without sharing some of the info on how you did it -- unless you do not want to.

One more thing about the great deal you got. Was it 23,900 or 22,900 like your "Sale Tag" states?

I don't know Gunn Acura's policy on Hail-Sale cars, but I believe the discount is for un-repaired examples. However, even if his TSX had hail damage, a couple of thousand invested in repairs and he still has a TSX w/Nav for a sweet price.

it is very hard to believe anyone buying a TSX for 22,9** and it hard to believe any dumb ass dealership would advertise it at that price. thats close to 8K below MSRP. When i was shopping for Acuras and considering the TSX, the intial price a saleman quoted me was 29,000 OTD and that was below invoice and a really good deal, after some talking and more shopping around, i got him down to 28,700 OTD. Considering Acura offers holdbacks etc. i find it hard to believe a dealer parted with their car thousands below invoice....zainzb06tsx, as Jay-Z once said, "WE DON'T BELIEVE YOU, YOU NEED MORE PEOPLE"

What Dalahu said may explain all of this. Maybe it was a hail damage car. Does that make the nay sayers believe it more?
Either way, it is probably an exception to the normal prices that people are paying for a TSX. So, it really doesn't matter how he got it. Say the dealer decided to run a promo and sell one TSX for $23k to draw people in. Or that it was a hail damage car. Will that situation really apply to most of us? Not really... So, maybe we should move on and find out what others are paying for a TSX currently.

Yeah it is a hail storm damaged car that was probably the one I test drove. they have the non-damaged TSX listed at 27,789 I believe. when I saw the car in the sun I saw a lot of damage even a cracked windshield but they said they had to repair the windshield but I wouldnt buy even for the 22,900 it was listed for. It just had to much damage.

Hi all.
I started reading this discussion board to see what sort of deal others were getting before I bought mine. I joined in on the thread about the TSX bought by "zainzb06tsx" to voice my opinion that the new 06 TSX /Nav that he acquired for $22,999 was possibly a "Hail Sale" special.
Well, I purchased a new 06 TSX /w/o NAV last night from the same dealer and the price was $26,999 (TTL not included). I know others on here are getting lower, but it was worth it to me to avoid the hassle of time off work and a long trip.
Also, an update on the hail sale cars at Gunn Acura (San Antonio TX): They do not have any more TSXs in the hail sale lot. However, they do have new 06 TLs priced from $23,999 and up! I your willing to fork out the $$$ out for the repairs (approximately $4,000), then you'll have the sweet deal of a new TL at near $6K under MSRP.
...and from the Department of Speculation: The 07 TSX should also add MP3/WMA compatibility to the standard audio system. I say this ‘cuz I looked inside the new 07 RDX and it had this feature. Again, this is just speculation.

For those interested in purchasing accessories for their new TSX, it pays to do a little research on the internet. I found genuine Acura accessories on the web for much less than the dealer wanted.
Example - Splash Guards:
Dealer price (installed and covered under warranty) = $210
www.hondaacuraworld.com price = $67
So, if you are willing to use a screwdriver, you can save a bunch of $$$.

I just purchased an '06 TSX w/ Navi (carbon on ebony, auto tran) today, and I had used this forum for help in pricing. Just thought I'd give a little back......I used edmunds.com to do a price quote from 4 dealers. 3 of the dealers emailed me back pretty quickly but did not quote an actual price. They wanted me to call to get the best price. I did call one of the dealers, and he wanted me to come in for a test drive first. I quoted some of the prices I saw on this forum, and he basically said it was hard to take those seriously because it might not be comparing apples to apples. So I decided to throw out an initial offer of $27,500 for a model w/ navi, to which he quickly replied he couldnt do, since it was under invoice. One of the previous posts here mentioned getting a quote for $28,072 ($200 over invoice) which I replied back with. The dealer immediately accepted that offer. I thought, Ok, not bad. I was on my way out when i got another email from the 4th dealer (Woodfield Acura in Schaumburg, IL), and he immediately quoted $27,872 (exactly invoice). So i headed there instead, and because my chosen color wasn't in stock, and they couldn't guarantee they'd get it (or most likely they really didnt want to try because it's effort they have to expend), I chose the Carbon/Ebony color that was on the lot. I asked for all-season mats to make up for it, which they did throw in. Bottom line, at least in Chicagoland, they are selling the '06 TSX for invoice.

Just purchased an 06 TSX 5 speed auto with Navi in Houston for $28,195, with a total OTD price of $30.215.45. Negociation was done using intial quotes from CarPerks.net (my employer has an employee purchase program for tons of different car models through them), and then sending all the quotes back and forth between dealers and letting them fight it out, all via e-mail. I went to the closest dealership to test drive before I got any quotes, and then I didn't go back until I had the lowest quote in my hand.
One thing that this did do was show that local car dealerships talk a *LOT* of trash about each other. With the exception of the one I bought from (Champion Acura, on the Gulf freeway near Almeda-Genoa), all the dealerships responded to quotes from other dealerships with things like, "Oh, yeah, the reason those guys gave you that price is because those guys are crooks. They usually don't include destination in the quote, and they'll charge you for accessories that they'll forget to install on the car!" and a lot of other BS.
Conveniently, the one with the lowest price also didn't do any trash talking or any pushing me to buy TODAY TODAY TODAY. They just said, "Here's our price--I'll go lower if you can beat it, but it's a good price." He ended up being right

spalsh guards and wheel locks
I was just told by a dealer that the wheel locks and splash guards on the car could not be removed and he was charging $272 for them. Is this a fair amount for a dealer to charge?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I just purchased splash guards on line from www.hondaacuraworld.com for $63.70 (they have the wheel locks priced at $35.50). The splash guards are installed with three screws each and the wheel locks are a one-for-one swap with the regular lug nuts.
IMO, paying the technicians $170+ for 12 screw tightenings and replacing four lug nuts is not so fair for the customer.
Visit the above mentioned web-site and offer them what it would cost you to get them yourself. I think that's fair.

And why would any sane person pay invoice (or over) for a 2006 this late in the model year anyway?
Quotes in NorCal for a 2006 TSX with Navi are currently coming in as low as $27,200 + TTL Some SoCal internet fleet managers are even beating that by a hundred or so.

I paid $35,500 Canadian for an 06 TSX without Navi. This price included a spoiler, tint, window visors and 1 year of free maintenance.
Not the most special price, but not that far off either.
Cars are much more expensive in Canada, plus you pay the killer 15% tax which destroys your bank-account.

$27,980 including Dest and advert fee
for 2006, AT, Nav, at Sterling McCall Acura Houston last weekend. The car was not in stock but it was on the truck in transit. CG/Quartz. I wanted RBP/Parch but there were no others coming into the houston area. CG/Quartz is working well for me though.

$26,106 (invoice) +$200 to go get it; dealer trade 150 miles away. My wife really wanted Silver (ASM?)/ Quartz, 6spd MT (bless my wife), non-navi. Supposedly the only one in 5 states.
