Warranty expiring

My warranty is up in a couple of weeks. Any words of wisdom to share? Anything I should try and do, or look for before its all over?

In the same boat. Took the car in to get a door lock fixed and the trunk harness recall. Didn't really have any other problems. I have about 1,000 miles left. Any one have any ideas?

Just a minor issue with the trunk wiring harness that could cause it to rub against something and lead to your taillights going out.

^^

Also, since it's a recall, that can be fixed even if your warranty is up.

I'm nearly 7K miles beyond the warranty... my advice, enjoy your car and don't think about anything else. The TSX, as we all know, is a very good car. I suggest you go out and treat yourself to Hondata if you haven't already.

Same here.....I'm at 48,951 (in 26 months ) and debating what the extended warranty would cost and if it is needed.

^^ Just what I was thinking.

Last 5 digits are all that really matters... if its low (like under 100 or 200), how's your oil consumption been???

Not just that, but also the early production bugs like seat rails, HVAC problems, etc.

I bought my tsx a couple of months after it came out, so its an early run (green key ring baby! )

I am having the seat rails issue taken care of, but what I have been told so far is that the new seat rail design is not in yet. IE, every new TSX off the lot has the same faulty seat rails.

Oil consumption has never been a problem for me.

I had the new seat rails replaced too (VIN #6400 and part of the green ring club) and they felt better than the first set new. I'm going to check to see if the part number changed.

2004 Original seat rail: 81510-SDB-A71
2004 replacement: 81510-SBD-A72
2005 Original seat rail: 81510-SBD-A72
2005 replacement: 81510-SBD-73
2006 Original seat rail: 81510-SEC-A01
2006 replacement: 81510-SEC-A02

Interesting. Either my dealer is full of crap, or there is yet another seat rail design in the works.

I had my driver seat rail and base (entire assembly) replaced last fall due to slight rocking when turning corners, etc... (just felt "loose"). The new one was NICE up until about a month ago when I noticed it's shifting ever so slightly when in slalom-like corners (I live near a traffic-circle so I go right-left-right in a quick manner - this is when I feel it). I'm going to check the invoice when I get home from work but I swear they put the new design in. Maybe my ass just wore it out? LOL.

Moda_Way: Interesting -- the 2004's got the 2005 "normal" rails, and the 2005's replacement rail is something else (73, not 72 or 71). Does this mean any 2004 which had the seat rail replaced before the 2005 replacement was done, has yet another defective seat rail and should have the "73" model installed instead of the "72" model?

Sauceman: What is the HVAC problem you speak of?

Is the seat problem a shifting problem?? I notice my seat shifts forward a bit when i come to a hard stop. It seems loose then, but otherwise I really cant tell.

Dim or dark Head Unit. I don't know why they call it "HVAC" Or maybe it's just me who got it all wrong.

The problem consists of a deficient resistance in the radio unit behind the headunit. The radio needs replacement.

I have that problem, but it's intermittent, so I'm leaving it as is for now. It's worth 800$ + install.

IMHO, the best time to get extended warranty is the week you get your car delivery (when it was new). It's a lot cheaper than when you buy it at 49,000 miles.
