My advice -- take the keys from your cousin and forget the 2,000 miles. I put that much on a rental car in a week. Or, charge your cousin 25 cents a mile for each mile over 500 (1500 * .25 = $375.00).

But, what is wrong with 2 TSX's. If something is good, I usually want as many of them as I can use. I have a TSX and my wife is looking at buying one -- they might even be the same color.

While you cousin apparently abused your trust, don't be unreasonable.

LOL, so true, so true. your car man, LOL

If you can, then sell the entire car to her or have her pay for the entire cost to fix the damages plus some cash for devalueing your car by driving 1000 miles.

It takes me 6 weeks to put 2k miles.

As for not wanting two TSXs within a family, I could understand . It'll be too boring to have the same exact car, unless of course the car is beyond excellent.

Anyways, go with the G35, it'll be fun to drive especially during the snow. Or the 3-series. You have many options with a budget of $35k.

The Legacy GT or if you want faster, the STI. No navi for either (big negative, IMO), but they do haul ass. If you can't find a nice car for $35k, there is something wrong.

Does it have to have 4 doors? If so, these are the cars I'd look at:

Legacy GT
STI
Evo - shitty ass interior, goes like stink
G35
Maxima
Altima
and obviously the TL
325 - you could probably get a 330 but have no options

I understand not wanting the same car that's already in the driveway. My reason would be different. You already have had a TSX, time for something different.

So there are some ideas on what to go test drive. The only way you'll know is to go test drive them and see what you like, don't like. And have fun with the process, don't dismiss anything without taking it for a spin.

I think he should use the government posted mileage rate of $0.375/mile.

Is there a car in the TSX range better then the TSX?

I've driven the 325i, Lexus IS, Subaru, Mazda 6s 5 door, Volvo S40.... and on and on and I always came back to the TSX.

If you can get another one, especially an 05 w/ XM why not?

You'd better go through that car thoroughly. .......You don't know what she was doing or who was in that car. .....Make sure there is nothing left behind that could get you in trouble if you were pulled over.

I went from a TSX to a TL. I love it. Not that the TSX was a bad car or anything, but the TL is very very nice. I don't regret it for the value that you get out of the TL. Its' really up to you what car you wanna get for $35K. A stock German car, a loaded American car, Japanese car, etc... It's your money.

My advice, test drive a shitload of cars and figure out which one you like the most and go for it.

One time i was leaving for a vacation for about 1 month out of country...my friend she was
thinking of borrowing my car to drive while i'm not at home...i asked her that to give me her
word that only her driving it....but she wouldnt say it. So i did not let her borrow the car.
Lesson and learned to all you folks...NEVER NEVER let any one driving your car at all...no
matter who it is...
