Very angry tsx owner!!
Ok so i went on a little vacation and i gave my car keys to my cousin so she can get from one place to another... when i lefted the car with her it had about 4k miles on it... i come back from vacation finding out my car got hit on the passenger fender. Not that bad a little dent and scratch and i also find out she put 2k worth of miles on the car in 1 week and some days.. so i flip out on her and she is like if you want my boyfriend and i will take over the payments for this car and we'll give you the down payment money that you put on this car so you can buy yourself a new one.. so i spoke to my mom and she was like thats fine. obviously i dont want a 2 month old car with 7k miles and a accident on it.. what should i do ? take the down payment money from here which is 2k and put it towards a new car? if so what sedans are out there that i can purchase. i dont want another tsx cause theres one on the driveway already but i would like something similar to it and close to price range... i was thinking 05 tl navi.. throw some ideas at me. very pissed off. that was my baby

If you really aren't interested in getting another TSX (which I think your reason for not doing so is kinda of silly reason) I would go with an accord coupe V6 and poor some money in it for mods or a TL.

this is not my year. i've had the most bad luck so far. hoping to buy a new car before february. is the tl worth the extra couple grand?

But regardless, the TL, G35, 350Z, Evo, and STi all fall into the price range, along with the Mazda 6, Accord coupe V6, Mustang GT, Legacy GT, etc.

1) I guess you are now painfully aware of SOME of the risks involved in allowing others to borrow your car. No one takes care of your stuff as well as you.

If your going to do this, then do it right. Register the car in their name and transfer the loan to them as well (if you can). Some loan companys wont let you do this. In that case, they will have to get their own loan. If you dont do these two things, you will be liable for any accidents or defaulted payments on the car.

If she can mess up your car like this, I don't think she's responsible enough to make the payments. Make her:
1. Pay for the damage; or
2. Pay for the full amount of the car upfront so that you will be off the hook. Then transfer the title over to her (as a "gift"). If the car is registered and financed under your name, you're gonna be able to build some serious credit...

You know, I think if I remember correctly, his mom financed the car and he made the down payment. So, bank issues would be up to his mom if thats the case. And if she owns the loan, then her name is probably on the title. So, he may not need to worry about anything.

Sounds like a very inconsiderate and irresponsible cousin, one who I would avoid at all costs.
You could just try to sell it and ask your cousin to pay the difference (fair market value - actual sold price).
