TSX v. Flood

We had a pretty rough Nor'easter tear through here on Friday and Saturday...we had 10-12 inches on Saturday morning alone. I was in a grad class 40 miles away during the worst of it and got a call from my wife that we were having significant flooding around our neighborhood. So I left class early to try to get home....anybody who knows Hampton Roads knows that we have tons of water everywhere. I hit a spot where I did not realize quite how high the water was since I was following behind a Pilot. By the time I knew it, it was too late and I had to continue my run through it. There were several cars left in ditches and one kid was pushing his Mazdaspeed Protege back through the water to higher ground.

I don't know exactly how high the water got....my best guess is that it was right around license plate height...I was too busy cursing my stupidity and praying for my safety.

Somehow the car made it w/out stalling and I found a route home, on the 5th try. The only damage was that I had water in both of my foglights and that the glass in one of them broke. Both yellow bulbs were obviously goners too.

Any suggestions on where to get a new glass for the one foglight? I replaced both bulbs with the stock ones and they both work so I'm good there. I'll probably reorder the yellow ones again.

All in all...I and my baby made out very lucky.

I am glad to hear you didn't lose your TSX in the flooding. Unlike me when a hurricane wiped mine out.

That's horrible to look at...

Glad to hear that your TSX made it out alive. Mine doesn't see rain; I'm too afraid of losing her.

That was close....

If you had a CAI, you'd definately be toast.

<--- switching back to SRI mode in November for the rainy months
