TSX/RX8/EVO Why doesnt anyone compare these? I am!
All three come in right under 30k, have four doors, great power and handling, why in the hell doesn't anyone compare these? If you are looking for sportscar handling but room to carry people and gear, all three of these work, but which is best and why?
I thought I'd try to get a thread started since the mags aren't doing any comparos and no one else is comparing them. I can't be the only 33 yr. old single guy comparing these three though, they have a hell of alot in common although being very different as well.
If you test drove or own any combo of these three please take a minute and post, I'd really appreciate the info. So far I've spent a week in a TSX 5AT, and have only read the info on the EVO and RX8, but plan to drive them soon, although I already am an Acura owner.
Thanks in advance for your opinions.

I think mainly because of the different styles each car has.
The RX8 is a high revving balanced car, but I don't fit in it and from what I hear is really lacking in torque while still sucking gas.
The Evo is a bone jarring ride and very cheap interior (not to mention high insurance rates). On the other hand, it's very quick and has AWD.
The TSX is more of a luxury cross. Nice interior and sporty enough for most daily driver "plus" times.

for starters:
Hp differences:
200 / 240 / 271
Drivetrain differences:
Fwd / rwd / 4wd
Class differences:
luxery sports sedan / Sport "coupe"(I know) / rally car
and the list goes on. Yeah, they all have 4 doors and are under 30 grand, but same with a dodge ram quad cam and a toyota prius.

I hear that about EVO's too, real touchy, like the rally cars they emulate. Not so good on a daily basis driver. I also read the RX8 really comes in at around 220 ponies so its not far off the TSX although 200 lbs lighter.
I was positive I was going to leave the Acura family and get an EVO but after living with a TSX and hearing about how fragile EVO's can be, I'm not so sure. I'd also like to drive the RX8 to compare. Its funky looking and does not have the refinement of the TSX but still should be considered. The editors call the EVO one of the best sports cars of all time but they don't have to live with it day after day...

Actually, Automobile Magazine did a $30k comparo back in Fall of 2003 that included the EVO. The TSX came out on top in that comparo by being the most balanced car between luxury, performance, comfort, and value. The EVO is an excellent car, if you're willing to deal with the choppy ride and every ricer in the country wanting a piece at every stoplight. Personally, I like things with balance and the TSX works very well for me.

I test drove the RX8 before buying my TSX, and having formerly owned a SRT4, I was ready for my butt to be more than 2 inches
off the road; I was also ready for a more comfortable ride, though to be fair, the RX8 wasn't punishing.
The TSX has a far more comfortable ride, seems better built, cost less, and frankly I wasn't down with the look of the RX8. Lots of tire noise, too. Sucks gas like crazy; shifter not as smooth, reliability still an open question.
It's a nice ride but I'm much happier with my choice. Acura rocks.

They are so different,
If you time your commute with a stop watch, get EVO.
...with the dashboard clock, RX-8.
...with the CD track number, TSX.
You'll have fun in any of those in their own way.
