TSX good for auto-x

This weekend i am putting my 06 6speed TSX in its first autocross. I was wondering if these cars are any good for autocross. I know it handles well and is responsive. Have any of you guys autocrossed your cars before.

TSX is best suited for auto-x more so than any other type of racing. Light weight anything, sticky tires and basic mods will make your car much more enjoyable in auto-x events. GL this weekend.

There were a couple of auto-x threads in the racing section before but they are gone now for some reason!?!?!?

A few TSX people on here auto-x (or used to anyway).

From my experiences with this car the tires will be the first and most annoying problem. If you are H-stock then you should be competitive.

Maybe better for MT, but AT really sucks 'cause of the stupid 2nd gear with no torque at lower RPM. The stock suspension is way too soft and lots of roll.

Fun? yes, kindda. Competitive? no.

Suspension is fine for H-Stock. If you put R-Comps on it, you will be very competitive in H-Stock, even in an AT. If you have a bunch of bolt-ons the put you into ST, running on street tires, you will probably be toward the rear of the pack. There are a few cars that would give your a run for your money, drivers being equal, but it is decent. The biggest knocks against it are its weight and the flat spot in the torque curve between 5-6k RPM.

Rear sway bar and spring changes are not allowed in stock class. If you have the A spec suspension and a Progress RSB you will be in ST (Street Touring). The TSX will probably be more fun in ST than H Stock. The stock springs on the TSX are to soft and the open differential are problems for autocrossing. I autocrossed my TSX a few times. The Kumho SPTs on my car had enough grip to induce a lot of body lean, which unweighed the inside front tire and cause a lot of wheel spin on corner exit. R compound tires will make the body lean worse. You should stick with ST and just have fun with it. It will probably not be a competitive car beyond the local level.
