Even with the VSA on, I did manage to chirp the tires.....so I'd imagine with it off, there'd be alot of tire slippage.....so i guess better........yea....gotta be careful, felt like i was killing the car, with the high revs and hard shifting and clutch engagement....I only recently passed 2200 miles, so maybe with more break-in time...for the engine to reach max efficiency.....and with the help of synthetic motor oil......dig deeper into the 6's

Goes to show you that these devices are not very accurate.

GTECH's have no use if you want real numbers to compare with other people or mag times...they are only good for the owners to compare the times they get each time on the same stretch of road..

I took my TSX to the track back in October and I noticed a lot of wheel slipping with the VSA both off and on. However, it will spin a lot more with VSA off. I have in car videos of my runs at the track, but no where to host them.

Yeah, I've always thought that traction at launch was a major issue in this car. Even with my AT, I sometimes feel it.

LOL, I just hooked up my Gtech-Pro to my Toyota Prius and ran a 4.893217... But don't feel bad, I mean the Prius was Motor Trends car of the year, so the TSX isn't really a fair comparison anyway...

only way to make a marginally accurate gtech run is to do a two way average over the same stretch. (then add some tenths)

On a perfect grade like a track they usually run pretty accurate. Just not likely to be perfect conditions for it anywhere on the street.

Hey B-D - just out of curiosity, what does a driving purist (I mean that as a complement) such as yourself think of the Prius?

As I am sure you figured out, I really don't have a Prius, buy our neighbors do. I am all for environmentally friendly vehicles, but I don't think too many people are going to take notice until they start putting these types of technology in better looking cars. I would love it if I could get 60 miles to the gallon, I am just not willing to drive a Prius or a Geo Metro to get it...
Would I pay more for the same car to get this technology? Only if they could prove that the performance would be the same and I would make up the cost difference in gas over the term I would be owning/leasing the vehicle...

Not always, Darth.
Like, I still don't get why he didn't say what car came in second for CNN/Money Magazine Car of the Year.

Does it matter? No matter what car it is, it will forever be known as the car that wasn't quite good enough to beat the pathetic Toyota Prius...

Oh, that one... Since I had referred to the Prius a couple times, I thought you were referring to that article.
The CNN/Money Mag one has the TSX as #1 and the 5-Series as #2. I think we all know that the TSX is not a better car than the 5-Series, it is just a better value. They even go as far as calling the new (and even I think UGLY) 5-Series, "Simply the freshest -- and best -- luxury sedan on the block." Best doesn't mean 2nd best, it just means that the TSX is more affordable and therefore is seen as a "better financial purchase" by the boys at money magazine. I can agree with that and I don't think I will ever own a Bangle BMW...
I'm happy that the TSX won, I think it deserves a lot of credit and hopefully it will raise the bar for other manufacturers in that class...
