Transmission Flushing

I personally would use either Honda ATF Z-1 or a multi-vehicle ATF such as Valvoline Mercon V or Amsoil Universal....note: Valvoline Mercon V does have the necessary FMs for a Honda ATF Z-1 app...I verified it with Valvoline....just look on the back label.
There really isn't a need for a flush...just drain/refill periodically and that's all you'll ever need. ATF doesn't really need to be changed out completely....a periodic refreshment of the additive pack thru a 1/3 drain/refill is enough.
I guess if you really did want to purge the system, you can simply unhook the return line from the transmission and allow the pump to empty itself by starting the car and allowing to idle in park. There won't be a problem with sucking in air if you turn it off immediately after the fluid (coming out) slows to a trickle as long as you refill the transmission immediately afterwards. Neither will the moving parts inside the transmission have a problem...the residual oil film coating the moving parts will be enough to allow it to stay lubricated during the few seconds it is being run on low fluid...after all, there aren't that many parts moving within a transmission when its in park/idle.

I think you're better off just grabbing Z1 from the dealership and doing a single drain and refill, and then refilling. That's really all you need...if you want to be perfect, drive around and repeat it three times. I've learned that hunting down the lines and fussing with the mess just isn't worth it.
