I was quoted 300 and 400 dollars depending on the grade of tint for all windows but winshield. Seemed a little high, but I've had two cars tinted at this little place before without trouble.

I paid $250 for mine. 35% on the windows, 20% on the rear.... done amazingly well.. protected for life.... no complaints at all.
I could have gotten it done cheaper... but I was very happy with the job done and Rich of Thornhill Tints came very highly reccommended.

I don't know about Philly, but when I got my windows tinted in new york city, it was $150 from a regular tint shop that my father knew. I heard tinting can range anywhere from $120~200 in new york.
The BEST ADVICE I can give you is this: it's better to go to a more expensive place that you can TRUST than to a shady place. Thankfully I didn't learn it the hard way but many of my friends did. G'luck tintin

I just had my windows tinted about 1-1/2 weeks ago. I paid $149 for all windows except the front windshield (although I wish he can do the windshield for me). The film he uses is Solar Gard HP Charcoal, pretty good film IMO 'cuz he did the windows on my Prelude and Integra. The tint on my Prelude is about 5 years old and the tint on my Integra was about 4 years old, both don't have any purple fading, bubbling, peeling, etc... That's why I went back with him again. He also has another expensive film manufactured by 3M. I was quoted it would cost me about $224 for all windows except the front windshield. BTW, the Solar Gard film had a lifetime warranty on it.

Talk to several shops in your area. Final cost will be based on vehicle size, window complexity and grade of film used. This is one area where you DO NOT want to get cheap (what are you going to do when it fades, cracks, delaminates, bubbles, etc. and then find out that your "economy" installer shop went out of business a long time ago?)
I got 40% on sides and back using the best film they had (as far as UV blockage, etc.) with a lifetime warranty. Cost me $300 (in central NC) and I consider it worth every penny (provided it does hold up for the car's life) since it looks excellent and upon close examination you can't even tell there's a film on the window (IOW it was done by a pro - my installer has been in the business for 12 years).
Remember, you get what you pay for! Like the sign on my installer's exterior window, "We can fix the $99 special jobs!"

$155 for 20% rear/35% front. comes with lifetime warranty if any of them bubble/peal/discolor/etc.
if you're in so-cal, go to sunshield tinting (intersection of 101 freeway and van nuys blvd). most of LA celebrities go here and they provide lifetime warranty for a good price.
man ozzman... you're getting riped off. that's double what i paid and you're in CA (same as me). go somewhere else...

I got my windows tinted yesterday for $179 sides/back. I got the Lumnar Platinum-Plus 35% all around, comes with Liftetime Warranty
Thats a ripoff, the highest I've heard anyone pay is around $250...300-400 is way too much, unless you have an excursion or big suv

haha...actually the place is Korean-owned and my father knew him somehow but I'm afraid I don't know the exact name of it. It's located near Northern Blvd. and Douglaston Pkwy. Would I recommend this place? I say their quality of work is average. I've only had my tints for two months and so far there aren't any bubbles/cracking/discoloring but you never know.
So...i guess my answer to your question is no? I'm not really sure...:P

Just to let you know, if you have Navigation, I have seen some posts where tint has caused a problem with the Nav antenna. I have no direct experience, but advise you to do some research on this before you go forward. Heard something about the metal in some tints. Hope this helps.

You too.
The shop I went to is called Rich's Tint Shop in Walnut. I don't have his phone number handy, but I can get it for you when I go home tonight. It's a small shop that is owned by...well, Rich! You can probably find his phone number on Yahoo Yellow Pages.
He didn't tax me on it. He quoted me $149 over the phone.
Edited: Here's his phone number, (626) 913-3718.

I see you're in SoCal. Which shop did you go to, if you don't mind me asking. Did they tax you on it too? Thanks.
