Thanks for the memories
Hey guys,
Some of you may have been aware that I was getting ready to sell my TSX, some of you may have not. In any case, I just got my new car, '06 Subaru Legacy GT Limited in Regal Blue.
Sure I miss my TSX and its nice luxuries that it had, but I have made up for it in power that the Legacy has. In any case, there are some pictures below.
I also wanted to say thank you for all the great memories on this board these past 1.5 years. I organized and helped organize some great So Cal TSX meets, and I do hope those who attended had fun. I have made some really good friends on this board, some whom I actually hang out with pretty often.
I'll still hang out and check out the new developments on the TSX. See everyone's mods, and try to offer any expertise (if any haha) I can.
Thanks once again, and enjoy the pictures:

Hey, congrats and enjoy!
I just traded my old skool RS Impreza (nearly the same color as your LGT ) for my TSX. I was real close to trading up to an LGT Ltd but decided to try Honda this time around.
Good luck with your new ride, they are sweet. If you haven't found nabisco, give it a try. A pretty good site: http://www.nasioc.com/

Thanks everyone. I'll definitely stick around and try to give input, or just pw haha. Nabisco (Nasioc) is full of info, sometimes inane. I prefer legacygt.com
Can't wait to start modding this car haha.

Haha, I think I'll have to. Honda reliability, SHAWD, Turbo! There's nothing wrong with that equation!

Damn man...sad to see you sell the TSX>...but good choice on the Subie!! Man that thing is fast....I would've love to get it..
Have fun now....maybe you should go up against a Supercharged TSX..

Interesting... I just bought a 2006 TSX, and my second choice was the same exact car you bought (2006 Legacy GT limited Regal Blue). In fact, I did a lot of negotiation on that one too, and came very close to buying it. In the end, I never could get very comfortable in the GT seat, and I liked the interior and features better on the TSX. Also, I do a lot of stop-and-go driving. Even with the less-powerful TSX, I fell like I'm rarely able to open it up. With the ultra-fast GT, I'd be pretty frustrated! In any case, you got a great car... it was very close between the two during my test drives.

Thanks everyone. Actually, I was cross-shopping the LGT against my TSX at the time that I bought the TSX. I figure, that since I've had my run with the TSX, I might as well try the LGT. So far, no dissapointments yet. The car was originally supposed to be an STi or an Evo, but after careful consideration, a daily 100-mile an average commute in LA traffic, and the cop attraction factor made me change my mind. In the end, I'm happy with my choice, but I will still kinda miss my TSX.

shoulda waited on that 2007 spec b, that car is amazing (and your avatar..). but i understand, it's pricier and you'd have to wait.
the spec b has improved a lot i'd say, but i part of me wants it to fail again, so i could get my hands on one cheap like the 2006's (but for the sake of subaru, let's hope it does well).
great choice! like i said before, i'll probably be choosing between that and a tsx.

Kind of cool to see cross Subie/Acura interests. Having owned two I can say that they are decent cars. I like what they have done with Legacy. I only wish they would still sell the white with black leather interior, I might have bought one.
Too bad the spec b is so high priced. For that money, it puts one into a whole other bracket. I think only Subie faithful are buying them. I knew of four of them sitting on dealer lots in February (and of course they weren't dealing on them )

I expected to buy the GT wagon in Oct '04, but they just weren't that available, so I bought the TSX. But I still could not get the Subie out of my mind. Year and a half later the SO crashes her old Camry, and I locate a screaming deal right down the street on a left-over 'O5 Atlantic Blue MT GT wagon (this is now Feb/Mar '06). Sticker over 27, could've had it for 22+. Drove it twice, was a thing of beauty. She did'nt want it, (mostly her money, she basically would have gotten my TSX) wouldn't have it, back and forth, dealer's callin', I'm draggin, FINALLY get her on board, drive down with two checks (her big, my smaller) in my pocket, and SOLD! Served me right. Quest begins anew. Just bought the vehicle she wanted, the new V6 Rav4. Yeah, it's like a Camry on stilts, but it's smooth as silk, and flies like a magic carpet. I can live with it. But you're lucky you got a Subie, and best of luck.

Good choice. The Legacy GT was also on my list when I was shopping for a car. Loved the power and thought the interior wasn't that bad either. The instrument dash is really cool when you start the car. Hated the steering wheel though. But good choice. And Subaru reliability is pretty good too. You got the best of both worlds....luxury and power.

I figured I made a pretty good choice. I just finished the break-in today and am a very happy man. Being about to run it to red line makes a difference hehe.
Luxury-wise, the Legacy isn't up to par with the TSX. But then power-wise, the TSX doesn't even touch the Subie. For those of you craving a little more power, but not willing to sacrifice the lux, I recommend checking out the Subie. Sure it doesn't have the big "names" that some of the euros do, but for reliability and mod potential, this puts it up there for those of you interested in some nice power gains with about the same vehicle cost investment.

Nice car, Omar. I considered the LGT before the IS250 came out. I did so much researches on this car that I could envision what it would look like if I have this car. So did you get the 5MT or the 5AT? After you've broken-in your car, we should head out to a drag strip. We'll compare your LGT and my A4. Both turbo and AWD, but you have more power and torque.

I've already broken her in. 1,000 miles in one friggin week! I drive an s-load for a living. We gotta schedule some track time for sure. And unfortunately, with the kind of driving that I do, I decided to get the 5AT because I could never get the hang of the Legacy 5MT (felt a little too soft). But OTOH, I can drive the WRX STi like it was nothing go figure.

mattg, one of the mods, got an LGT earlier in the year and is already making obscene quantities of power with just an ECU upgrade...

I was debating whether I should mod my A4 since it's a lease. Guess what, I got my first mod already.
