Sun Shade/Shield for TSX

Hey folks, I just wanted to know where I could buy one that would fit the TSX. And how much $ do they normally go for? It seems to lie in the $20-50 range. I'm wondering if I could pick one up at Walmart instead. Anybody have one that can help me out? Thanks, it's much appreciated

Man this car heats up inside (more than ANY car I owned previously), and I got the Quartz interior

I got one from Wal-Mart and it fits alright. I got one of the "nicer" ones with fabric on the ends.

You can buy one from the official Acura website, where they sell T-shirts and key-chains, etc., that is reflective silver with BIG Acura logos on it for like $15.

BTW, Walmart sucks!

I've been pondering ordering a custom fit one from Covercraft. They're $50 shipped, but they have winshield specs for like every car and they ship you something cut to perfectly match your car. They are supposed to be high quality, and they have specs for the TSX. Anyone want to be the test mule?

I just received this last week. It's excellent! I thought it was worth my $45. It looks very nice and doesn't look cheap at all.

Other members of the forum also purchased this exact same product as well.

That one from Covercraft looks really nice, and will probably last years, but that's definitely the upper limit of what I'm willing to spend for something like this...

I bought mind from wal-mart for I think $8. They fit great (stay up just fine without need for the sun visors, and they block the entire windshield), fold into a small package, and keep the car cool. They're the kind that fold down into a circle, so I can store them in that pocket behind the front passenger seat.

I *think* it's by these people, or at least the diagram there is exactly how mine works: http://www.auto-expressions.net/FAQS_sunprotect.HTM

That's what I have. It has the perfect size. However, it makes you realize how deep your windshield is. After one day, the center sags a little like in the picture. It still works well and is secured, but it's annoying sometimes. I wish they had put in vertical ribs every foot or so (it's not like i'm going to roll it horizontally)

here ya go Reach.....

1 year old covercraft UVS100 Heat Shield for TSX:

Pics say most of it. Custom fit. Very high quality given its rigid center material.

Downsides: cost, folded size is larger than the wireframe style or rollup...harder to stow. Really only a nusiance with 4 passengers.

I have the "Heatshield windshield shade" that sell for about $19.95. I've had it for going on 3 years now and it's still in like new condition and works great. Besides being reflective it is also insulated. It fits great and is easy to deploy and roll back up. As for the slight "deflection" in the middle, I find that it doesn't affect its function and is in fact, fuction wise, a non-issue. I'd call it a "best bang for the buck" option.

P.S. - I live in the Sacramento Valley and we get a lot of hot sunny days here. I have an '04 NHB TSX with tinted windows.

I have something like this too. Cheap, and it folds nice and compact. The blue doesn't quite match the paint color, though.

I used to use one (on previous car) that was reflective and rolled up. It was very effective, but rolled up, it was still a 3' long tube that would take up room in the rear footwell and was inconvenient if I had passengers.

just bought the wire kind from walmart for 7 dollars. it was a off brand. my mom uses the fold up kind made by auto expressions. it costs about 8-10 dollars. she got the double thick kind since other cheap ones fold since they are too thin.

I've had a CoverCraft for my Integra for about 2 years, but now I use it in my TSX since it fits almost perfectly. Highly recommended product.

I also have the Covercraft shade, and I think it's a great product overall, but...

Mine is about 3 years old and the hot South Carolina sun has baked it so that the reflective material is a bit brittle. It has split along most of the seams where the shade folds, and the only thing holding it together is the fabric backing. Sounds like a job for duct tape, huh?

So my conclusion to this point - you can either go to Walmart/Target for a $5-15 one or get one from the dealership or other place for $20+, agreed? I'm sorta siding with Walmart/Target right now...it can always be easily returned if I'm not happy with it (have a friend that works at customer service).

I bought the Heatshield one from Acura Serramonte. They are custom cut to fit your windshield. works very well for under $30. I think it was about $24, can't remember.

btw, doesn't have acura logos or any sort of branding.
