let's stop complaining about our car not being able to keep up with STI, Mazda 3, 330i , and etc.

the car is worth more than just 30K, and it has a great balance as a light sports sedan, as a 4 banger, and as a luxury vehicle.

something i recently read, and wanted to share.

but props to those who have Hondata done,
with Hondata reflash done, our K24 is 4940 ft/min.

no wonder EP3s with TSX engine swap runs single turbo of 385WHP at just 9psi.

our engine's great, so stop damaging them running 9000rpm to follow STI s . lol

Hmm, deja-vu.

Unfortunately, as the new models are introduced so quickly nowadays, this list is sooo outdated already. We need a new one for reference. I have a feeling the M3 V8 is one piece of art.

Yep.

I just read this morning the Motorsport division chief engineer saying they went from the I6 to V8 because they felt they couldn't get anymore from the 6, the piston speeds were as high as they could make them go. Also, the V8 allowed for a more compact engine with thicker cylinder walls that would allow aluminum block instead of the cast iron block setup they had with the 6.

And the piston speeds have also gone down from 24m/s down to 20m/s (around 3975 ft/min). Meaning they probably have room for further development.

The S-series engines almost always got ITBs. The old M3s had that, and so does the M5.
