Are Speed bumps a problem with TSX aero kit?

I have to negotiate these rather annoying parking lot features at work. Both directions on the up and down ramps. They are pretty tall; the rubber, bolt in type. Is there a clearance problem with anyone else–who has lowered & added an aero kit with 18" wheels on a TSX? I plan on adding a kit down the road.

How much are you lowered? That's the main question.

You can deal with speedbumps, as long as you take them slowly and, if necessary, at an angle.

^A 1-1.5" drop–with some heavy audio gear in the trunk, new Tanabe SMT exhaust very soon.
These SB are tall. Not like the concrete ones I've encountered.

I have a Mugen Lip kit with 18s and I don't have problems with any speed bumps. Only thing I have to watch out is "ramps" and "slopes that are on a incline." It also depends on what bodykit you will be running on. Mugen and Kenstyle tend to give you a lower stance, hence, less ground clearance. With OEM or EuroR lip kit, you are not as low to the ground and may be a bit easier for everyday driving.

If you run on 19s (ex. 19 X 8 with 235/35/19 tires) then the car will be raised a tad more than the 18s, giving you more clearance from the ground.

1-.15 shouldnt be much of a problem going thru those IF you go over them rather slowly.

Many people say about angle. BUT, i think, at some place, angle won't work as well.
I have an 06. and the front two corner of the car's lower, so, at certain place even if i go angle, i scratched.

but anyway, scatching the bumper's bottom's nothing. just becareful of your CAT, exhaust and stuff beneath (the middle area) , , ,, ,

The speed bumps that i had problems was the long ones which are 3-4 feet long than a 1foot bump.

I ended up scrapping the side skirts and my exhaust in Ohio. Weekend trip there made me not want to visit there ever again.

Other speed bumps are alright i just take it easy and slow (tein basics)

I get in very early in the AM. I'll stop the car before, over and after the rear tires and measure. Sounds like a plan. Thanks guys/gals. You're the best!

even if you are slammed you can make it over speed bumps just go at an angle so only one wheel goes over at a time.

Or just don't lower it at all and feel safe all the time

I have stock suspensions with the aspec kit. I haven't scraped once.

Thumbs up

^ Yes. That would work. I do enjoy the tighter handling over installing an aero kit. I couldn't make that trade-off.

i'm about a 1.5 finger gap on all my wheels with tein basics with the 07/08 euro-r kit and stock rims. i think after i got my basics installed, the guys that worked on my car said i had about 8" in the front (probably less since the suspension settled). if i angle my way up and down driveways i'm good. i've only scraped my front lip once so far on this setup, with no issues with speed bumps (knock on wood). i try to avoid any horrendously steep driveway entrances when i can.

im lowerd 1.7 on front and 1.3 on back with 18's and the a spec package and its not a problem at all. just go slow over speed bumps n your fine. the TSX has to be lowered. i will never take my springs off now it looks too good dropped. it makes it look less family and more sporty

It doesn't have to be lowered. One reason not to is that it'll be more expensive in the long run when you bottom out a lot more....
