remote lock does not chime if hood or trunk is open

remote lock does not chime if hood or trunk is open

is this a security feature?

ya, it beeps to confirm that everything is closed and secure... when the trunk or the hood is open the car isn't secure so the doors will lock, but it won't beep to confirm...
