I just got to thinking. Heck maybe I should switch to memory 2. But what benefit do I get out of getting my key early? I have no clue what I'm doing.

I just got back from the dealer. He said the key is going to cost under $50. Is that true? He said it will arrive in one day. How much is everyone paying for their key(s)?

Alright guys/gals, I've successfully disassembled and reassembled the TL key. I've also removed the immobilizer chip and programmed the transmitter to work with our car. Next thing to do is figure out how the hell I'm gonna get a key epoxied in there. This key mod is 2x as difficult as the USDM Accord mod. It is not for the faint of heart. Acura/Honda did a good job making the immobilizer chip nearly impossible to get out.
So far, I'm 50% the way there.

I have work in the early morning, so I will take the weekend to get a copy of my key made and begin the process to sculp a new key until the guy on the TL forum gets a 100% on milling the OEM key into our standard profile. I'm concerned because our TSX (and TL key for that matter) are wider across the profile. That means even if you mill it correctly, once you cut the correct profile into it, the tumblers may fall deeper and thus not work. He seems to feel he has it covered and he is extremely knowledgeable, so I have faith. I'll keep you all posted.

Hurry up with the key. Instead of eating turkey and spending time with the family for Thanksgiving, you should work on the key. The key is more important. hahaha. j/k Spending time with the family is priceless. Cant wait for your results.

I think bngu1 also put a copy/original key into it. I have not yet done it because I need to get a copy of my key and have been with the family. I am still looking at the best way to minimize what I cut and what I don't because most are just cutting the entire bottom off. I don't want to do it that way.
