rburns6153 spoilers, any experience

As asked in photography forum, has anyone tried the rburns6153 spoilers from eBay. They have the RBP, Xenon doesn't.

Depending how desperate you are, you can wait for Xenon to get one back up. I waiting a few weeks for my CGP to show up. Completely satisfied.

I just ordered one on 5/31 - I'll report back when it arrives. I would have preferred Xenon or Desla since those were more recommended by forum members, but neither had one in Glacier Blue Metalic. However his eBay reviews were possitive and looked like he did a lot of business. For $60 I took a shot. Should be here this week.

msmching - what's "pwp"?

Yea, I got one from him PWP. but the white is completely off. It was a few shades whiter, not that off white color. I emailed him about the color and he said my car's paint was a "variant" which I highly doubt. He just didn't want to deal with it.

I haven't rated rburns yet, even though I got the spoiler a while ago. I got mine repainted for 20 bucks. If you know anyone that can do the paint for cheap, you could just buy the unpainted one that's like 15 bucks off ebay and get someone to paint it for you.

So does your repaint make your spoiler looks EXACTLY the same as your body color?
As far as I know, the PWP will never match probably, unless all items are painted at once. The PWP will turn a bit yellowish under UV, salt (winter) and dirt from the road.

Yup, I had to have the rear bumper cover on my PWP replaced and it does not match exactly. The body shop worked on it for about a week trying to make it perfect, finally I told them it was close enough.

I used to own a PWP '02 RSX-S and that car also needed the rear bumper cover replaced. Same result out of two reputable bodyshops.

I just wish people would stop running into my cars.

Yup, just got a NBP lip off him that came in 3 weeks ago. My only complaint is that the lip came up short - about 1/2" on each end (mentioned in another thread) but otherwise the color is perfect. I've been asking others who bought off "rburns" if theirs came up short as well, haven't gotten any replies yet. Either way I've gotten use to it and it looks fine to me. Regarding the paint job it even has a nice black glossy look - you can tell from the reflection of the tree off my trunk and how reflection continues off the lip in the first 2 pics:

If mine looks that good I'll be thrilled. Can I ask a stupid question - I'm guessing the instructions tell you how to line it up, or do you just eye-ball it? I have an eye for things that are off line, so it's going to bug me if it's not perfect.

Yea, the PWP is hard to match. My friend's shop got a lot closer to the factory white, but when I look around the forums, people with darker colors have a lot less problems because it's not as hard to match. About the fitting, mine is shorter too, so there's space on each end of the spoiler. YOu have to eyeball it, yes. It's kinda hard, but I measured it, found the exact center of the spoiler, and put a side of tape on it. then I aligned the side of the tape with the acura symbol. So mine is perfectly centered.

But you have to remember to curve the spoiler. I installed mine twice (Second time to repaint). THe first time the whole spoiler was curved except one spot, which bugged the hell out of me, so more reason to repaint.

Revenant, I see you're a fellow Torontonian! Did you find that rburns was the cheapest solution? I looked at Xenon which totals to around $100 Cdn and not much less for Delsa. Spoiler is cheap but the shipping & handling kills!

I just purchased mine on ebay from xenon, came to a total of $57.95 US. Hopefully it ships as fast as they claim it will. Going to detail the car this weekend, hopefully can put it on next week.

I don't remember how I went about this actually. I think I just decided one day to pick up a lip and went on ebay. I narrowed it down between Delsa and rburns b/c Xenon didn't have a black one listed at the time. In the end rburns turned out to be cheaper and I guess I was sold by all the positive comments that people left on his listing (could have been made up =T). Total after shipping to Canada came to about $79 CDN and arrived in about 2 weeks. Customs stacked on another 10 bucks though =T

Overall I'm happy with the purchase though.

Here is the finished product from rburns! Arrived today and wasn't unwrapped more than 45 minutes before it was on the car. Install was easy, just take your time. Measure, and mark the spots you want it to go. Color match was not 100%, but I believe the Glacier Blue Metalic is very difficult to match perfectly. You can really only tell if you're standing right over the top of it. From all other angles, it looks right. It was a tad ligher than the car. I'd call it a 95% match. Also, it was about 1/2" short on each side. In all I was very happy.

looks good, but really short. the xenonspecialist one goes edge to edge, depending on how far back or forward you put it. i think i've got about 1/16" on each side

^^ The length doesn't really bother me much, but I expect it would others. Xenon didn't have my color. That was part of my problem - rburns was the only one advertising Glacier Blue Metalic. Maybe Xenon might have custom made one, but they didn't leave any contact info that I could find. Figured if they were going to make it that hard, what confidence would I have in a custom order. Anyway this lentgh didn't bother me.

I got mine from rburns as well. I confirmed with him if he got the exact fit for the TSX before I made my order and he said yes. However, when I recieved mine it's also came off 1/2" shorter both sides. I would say the paintjob is 90% matched compare to the original PWP. It's a little bit whiter. Only 4 people have seen it so far on my car. All of them said it looks fine. It would have been nice if I got the exact fit though. Are the lip spoilers from Xenonspecialist shorter as well or they are perfect fit on the TSX?

^^^ I've read that Xenon's fit nicely - certainly not the 1/2" gap you get with rburns. But you know, I've had a dozen people see it and no one blinks at the length. Suppose it's a matter of taste.

Not to be cynocal, but I've sent him/her/it three e-mails over the past year about a RBP spoiler...if they have one, when, can they special...

...no response, not even a peep! Maybe I'm unlucky, but it is NOT a spam filter because I don't use one...
