problems with seat. other misc.

ok so here is my problem, eveytime i brake sort of hard (or slide my ass forward) my seat will slid up about 1/4" - 1/2" and then once my car stops and falls back the seat slides back again. VERY ANNOYING. do you think this is just a loose nut or something? im going to have the dealer look at it when i get a chance. anyone else have this problem?

also i just wanted to see a few comparisons. im wondering if i am the youngest TSX owner on this forum. birthdate of 5/21/1986 making me a little more than 17yrs6mos.

also my vin is 16685. preeeetty late i think, anyone else got a newer tsx?

Why would you admit to that?? Now I know not to take you seriously.

Just kidding. You're not the youngest here. Search for an age thread and you'll see...

I had my power seat rails replaced already. It fixed the "grinding" problem I was having, but not the sliding. Same as you describe. I'm coming to the conclusion it's just "the way things are" and probably can't be fixed permanently.

Maybe not. If you're FIRST car is a sport luxury sedan like the TSX, you may not fully appreciate how great it is.

My first car (a used '78 Civic) started burning oil about a month after I got it. I was terrified of the engine dying. Ever since, reliability is a HUGE priority in my cars.

aww common jcg, you gotta take me seriously, i would bet my tsx im smarter than 70% of the posters on this thread, maybe even you....i know this isnt by any means an all encompassing indicator of anyone's intelligence, but i scored a 1320 on my sat's.

and captainjack the tsx is NOT my FIRST car. i had an old, oil burning, fuel consuming, exhaust growling....94 bmw 318i. lol it was an awesome car actually, until it got totalled about a month ago or so. i guess one could say i am a liiiiittle spoiled. thats why i had to get the tsx, had to step up from the bimmer, and i am much happier with my tsx.

but believe me i feel fortunate every day i step into my car and see the navi light up, and i realise how lucky i truly am to have survived my first accident (t-boned on the driver side by a mazda protege traveling ~ 45 mph)

First if you’re so smart why did you just say a very very stupid thing? "i would bet my tsx im smarter than 70% of the posters on this thread"

Second, sorry to disappoint you but you aren't the youngest owner, nor are you the smartest. There are a few 16 year olds who on the TSX on this site.

Stop the presses! Is it b-d jr.??? lol

That sucks. I think if I survived a driver's side T-bone accident in my BMW without any major injuries, I'd probably buy another BMW, not a car that hasn't been crash-tested in the US (though it has in Europe).

wel excuse me briny, with such an expansive vocabulary i tend to mix up words sometimes. j/k. but seriously have you never mixed up two similar ideas like thread and forums?

o and jcg...b-d jr? LOL. my friends call me bd and im not sure what you actually meant. 'splain please. and ya i was very impressed by the way the bmw protected me in the crash. o and shhh.....i didnt have my seatbelt on.

(before ppl say im stupid or w/e for not wearing my belt, i ALWAYS do...well 99% of the time....i was exiting a track however to go to my high school right across the street. i mean what were the odds of an accident right...1:1 i guess)

I'm sorry, you just lost your TSX.

Seriously, though. What a silly comment!

B-D- I like BMWs - and I don't think I've ever said otherwise, even if I tease BMW owners from time to time. But all I'm saying here is that if I was in a bad accident and my car protected me well, I'd be inclined to buy another car very much like it. Wouldn't you??

b-d- Not to sound like your father, but I think you've used your get-out-of-jail-free card (seatbelt?). Enjoy your TSX.

First Buff-Daddy flaunts his PhD. Now we're talking SATs.

I won a blue ribbon in Grade 2. Must've been for some drawing I made. (I have got to put this in my resume.)

When you go to college for 6.5 years, you get to bring it up whenever you want. I only mentioned it because some 18 year old who still loved with his parents was calling me ignorant. I have found that common sense is far more important than any degree anyway. But unfortunately, common sense isn't common.

This thread is definately going down hill. It went from the topic "problems with seat" to speaking of your educational status and "how smart my TSX is"..

Stick to the topic at hand and enough with the baby shit.

Blake.D - Feel very fortunate (i'm sure you do) of having a nice car at the age that you are. I was fortunate as well although I worked my butt off for it. I started working at 12 years old and saved up all my money for my down payment at 17 for a 2000 Accord Coupe V6 EX. I was in an accident a few months ago (not my fault, stupid 17 year old who was inexperienced pulled out right in front of me) and my car was totaled. Good luck and always wear your seatbelt, even if your going across the street.
