Picking up car this weekend, any owner advice appreciated

Hello Everyone,

After anxiously waiting for almost three months, I am finally picking up my CG/Ebony/6 Speed/Navi this weekend This is the first time that I am buying a new car and am not sure what to expect Any advice from those of you who have gone through the purchasing experience is greatly appreciated.

I have already negotiated the price and free options that I am getting. I am interested in experiences that people have had regarding financing, and and what else the dealer tries to sell(Extended Warranties/Gap Insurance etc.)

Any and all advice will be very helpful.

depending on your insurance company... some policies come w/ gap insurance for the first year (mine does... 21st century). so check w/ your insurance to see if that's included... no need to buy double gap insurance.

also, don't even bother getting any of the other side stuff like rust proofing, leather conditioning, etc... all useless and they charge an arm/leg for it.

man that combo sucks for waiting. I'm waiting for the exact same thing. You ordered it on the 11th getting it this weekend.
Someone else I saw ordered it on the 8th and is supposed to get it tomorrow.

I ordered mine on the 10th and it was supposed to get here today. Turns out its delayed a week

I guess if you want cg/ebony 6-speed/nav you have to wait 3 months. I thought most people were only waiting around 2 months

Thanks for your advice ebcheon.

Tony, you are right, it seems that that people are waiting longer for that particular combo. Hopefully you will get your car soon.

Any other recent buyers who can provide some info???

My dealer tried to sell me paint protection, leather protection, extended warranty, etc.. but I refused it all. Major profit for them, not as much benefit for us.

Also, remember to check the tire pressure before driving away! Dealers are notoriously bad at over inflating tires in cars. I don't know why.

Thans pansuria...i will definitely remember to check the tire pressure.

Anyone else???? I know we have a lot more TSX owners here. I have not had a very positive experience with the dealer so far, and I just don't want them to screw me...especially in financing.

Please help....

YES, definitely avoid add on deals from the dealer. Most of these deals you can do it yourself (i.e. leather protection) and save $$$. I would advise that you spend some money and buy a " clear bra" made by 3M immediately. There are Clear Bra dealer that will install it for you for $600 but you can buy and install it yourself for $300. I wish I had done this for my TSX. I have so much chips and knicks on my hood, mirror, headlight, and bumper that I will have to get it repainted in few years. On my next car , I will buy the clear bra before I pick up the car.
