This morning I was fooling around with my stereo (04 non-nav) and found that if you hold the CD/AUX button down for a few seconds, when you release it, the audio lighting will dim to its lowest setting. Doing this doesn't dim the dash gauge lights.

Weird, but a quirky trick that some might find interesting and/or helpful.

 

I'm pretty sure that on mine (non-nav) the radio and HVAC lights shut off completely when I do this. Could be because I already had the lights turned low. I love this feature BTW, sometimes when you're driving along at night its nice to have a very dark cockpit.

Do the guys credit, apprently his lights dim. The first post was about them turning completely off. Don't know why his dim when everyone elses turn off.

I would call this more of a "rotten egg" than a repost.
