hey everyone
the 2 month old TSX got fu*ked up today

i was standing at a red light today when i hear a gun go off, i then hear it hit a part of my car so a speed away and in the process, i scraped my bumper against a column.

i inspect the damage when i reach home and the driver side of my bumper is totally fucked up, the fiberglass is all cut up and the scratches are pretty deep.
also, the bullet ricochet off my license, so now theres this big dent on my plate with the paint peeling off of it.

when i remove the plate, i notice that the front plate bracket is cracked
does anyone have any idea how much this'll cost me and how long will my car be gone? Also if i will need to replace my bumper?

i have reported it to the police and i wish to pay for this rather than having my insurance do it and my premium go up (its high enough as it is already).

Any help would be appreciated

PS: anyone know if i can get a replacement plate for my car without having to change the number.

Where in Jersey City were you driving around? and what time was this.. That sounds crazy. I live in Hoboken but I head to JC heights all the time (I have family there). I'm sorry to hear about your car. I know how you feel.. I had pain inflicted to my TSX as well at one point. It sucks bigtime.

it happened right next to marion, i was on Sip waiting to turn on 440. This happened at about 8:10 PM yesterday. Ima head over to a friends soon and get sum pics taken.

why not? you get a free souvenir license plate and, if you're lucky, you could even get some free speed holes. haha.

 

Well just be happy that the bullet hit your license plate and not you! Damage doesn't look too bad, you just need that bumper repainted. I'd keep the license plate though just for kicks.

 

I still can't get over the fact that this is the same guy that has 5 cars and no digital camera..

Have we seen any pics of your your other 5 cars that are all worth at least $10k more than your TSX yet? Now you've got bullets bouncing off your license plate?

I still can't believe you have 6 Cars, businesses and property in New Jersey and New York and you always have to visit this "so called friend" to use his digital camera.

I bet that ding in the license plate is from whatever you hit that scratched you bumper.

went to Acura dealership, said it will cost over $600 to fix the bumper and $35 for a new bracket
got the new bracket and installed it
called a friend who works at a honda dealership, he recommended a body shop in bayonne
got there, was quoted at $300
i get my car back later on tonite
i believe they know what to do since there were like 3 TLs and a bunch of Civics and Accords for body work there
$335 later and my TSX is good as new (other than the plate)

Well... although i can see where you're coming from. I do know some people that have lots of money and own lots of cars but dont really know how to work the fancy digitalized stuff. Why buy one if you dont know how to use one? So i can't really say i agree with you on the BS thing.

 

Lets give him the benefit of the doubt until he proves wrong. It's possible. Maybe he really doesn't know. Not all males are car people. If you aren't car savy, you probably wouldn't know.

 

It's not that he doesn't know how to use a digital camera....he goes to his "friends" house and uses his. He just doesn't own one. We called his bluff a while back about owning all these sweet rides and told him to prove it and he posted a pic of a SUV that wasn't even licensed in the state he claims to be from. Then and only then he said he owns businesses in that state.

Besides, all the other cars he claimed to have cost at least 10grand more than a TSX (ie: Benzo's, escalades, etc...). We wondered why he would even consider a TSX as his 6th car.

I will believe it when I see a pic of him standing in front of all 6 of his cars. Till then I will pull the Bullshit card every time he comes up with some off the wall story like bullets hitting his car causing him to scratch his bumper.

CJ, I know that is not much excitement for you since you are in exciting and dangerous WASHINGTON STATE. The guy did come up with photos of a TSX with a scraped bumper, and a plate with a "bullet" dent in it. Now I would say that is taking a lie a bit too far. I'm from NY and I have been to Jersey City, and it is possible to get shot in the license plate or your ass very easily.

OK common now, more crazy/exciting then a gunshot that hits his bumper?? I'm from New York and been to Jersey City too and let's not make it out to be all that bad, its not like people are going around shooting other people license plates, or shooting at random cars... or shooting at all. I mean, I know people try to play like NYC/North Jersey is all badass, and I love it, it's awesome, but lets not go around saying people get their cars shot up everyday cause thats just not true, whether you think its badass or not...

I agree agree this guy is bull shit. I'm gonna go a step further and say I don't even believe that license plate is his and/or on a TSX. I think he found a cool picture and made this shit up. I mean, this all could be true, but until we see proof I gotta think this is just BS.
