need help with window tints
anyone know of a good place for tints in NJ?..north jersey will help...but i also got a question...i own a Black tsx and i seen mercedez benz that are also black with some type of grayish blueish or some kind..but makes the car look like more with luxury but if u guys dont kno is ok..but i was wondering wat % should i go for..i want something that during the day ppl can see im driving but yet not able to distinguish my face...and at night to look black..so wat % u guys think that would be?
I got 35% all around with Madico at Auto Image in Somerville, but keep in mind that anything on the front windows is illegal in Jersey. I got pulled over and warned about a year after I got mine tinted, so I had the fronts removed.

for black tints hit up Bouba Tinting in jersey city
he charges $140 for all windows (minus windshield)
no issues after 2 years and comes with lifetime warranty
if you lookin for the blue ones, hit up professional sound and security also in jersey city
they are more $$ but look awesome (the owner of professional has them on his black 745li)
I mixed and matched them on mine (got 15% in the back and 20% up front)
35% would be perfect on a black one

One thing that you can always do if you want it to look darker is tint the frond windshield. I'm in TN, where there really aren't any tint laws at all. So I have 15% on all the windows and 35% on the windshield. You can't actually tell whether there is someone in the car, even if you are staring directly into the windshield. Nonetheless, NJ is not quite a relaxed, so I would probably recommend 35$ or 40% on the windows and 50% on the windshield. It really depends on the look you want for the car.

Sorry to burst your bubble Feynman, but the tint law for TN is 35% and not sure about front windshield, but common sense would dictate that you can't tint there.
Regardless though, I can't believe there are no fines to tint shops who would tint whatever windows you want regardless of the law. It's akin to saying that using drugs are illegal, however, you are allowed to sell them.
Having said that though, I do have 35% on the front driver's and passenger side and 20% at the back three windows. You can hardly tell the difference except when dusk is near.
Here's 35% on the rear windows of my old integra:
I think this is the effect you are looking for...
This place is great! 287 to Rt 23N (Exit 52B)

Thanks ppl!...and by the way..any speacial type of tint would I be looking for?...because I heard something with metallic n all those diff names...so I'm a lil confuse on that..which 1 would be a better pick?
huper optiks or sungard (i think) are usually pretty reputable brands of ceramic tints. they just take longer to dry b/c of the thickness.
might be a little more expensive too, since they're good brands. i wouldn't cheap out on tints. you don't want them to look purple and have bubbles in a few years.
edit: i think the actual name might be solar gard. not sungard. that's they computer system. lol.
