Need advice on the TSX interior...looking to purchase

My wife insisted on an MDX about two years ago and of course now its “too big.” So she wants me to ditch my car, take over the MDX and wants a TSX for herself. Since I am a fan of the TSX I agreed.

So we walked into the dealer yesterday and as expected we love it. Just a few things though… we noticed ALL the dashboards are black, even with the tan interior! The dealer said “we think Honda had a bunch of black dashboards left over and wanted to use them up.” It made us laugh but still…all the dashboards are black!

So this is a long winded, round about way to ask what those of you who have the all black interior think about it. Is it hot in the summer? Does it clean easily? Does it look good?

Thanks for any input you have…

I dont have the black interior but I think that it looks good. I personally wish I would have gotten the all black interior. Tha black dash in my experience is very easy to clean. I have had no problems at all. One thing I wouldnt do though is use armoral on it though.

Easy to clean, and you can use the remote to roll down the windows before you enter the car in the summer to vent the interior.

The interior gets hot during the summer, regardless of color.

The TSX is quickly turning into a chick car ... almost every girl I know wants to get a TSX.

I'm a BIG fan of the ebony interior. It never really looks bad, even dusty, and is very easy to clean. I've only had it 2 months so I can't talk about summers... tint is always a good recommendation though.

I turned down my primary choice of exterior color when a local dealer had one with the parchment interior. Instead I went with CG / ebony. I thought the same as you, the black dash on parchment didn't work well. The 3-tone effect of the quartz interior looked better, but the 2 tone black and silver with the ebony couldn't be beat.

it has ALWAYS seemed to be a "chick car" to me - 9 out of 10 I have seen the driver was a mature woman.

I wasn't a big fan of the two tone interior so I went with ebony... I think it looks hawt and it's fairly easy to clean.

Wouldn't say 9/10 but 6/10 for sure. Always ladies 45+.

I originally was going to go with the gray interior, ended up at the last minute going with the black. Easy to clean and looks great with the black dash.

Black is classy, durable, and easy to keep clean (or: hides dirt easily - either way, it looks good.) If you don't want to burn your tushy, you can always remotely roll down the windows as you walk up to it and give it a chance to air out. Not much of a problem though. I've had black leather for 8 years straight in the Oklahoma sun. This is my second car in a row with black leather, if that tells you anything.

I love my black interior eventhough I live in SoCal and it gets pretty darn hot in the summertime....even with my 35% tint. Another downer is that dust shows so easily all over the black dash and console areas. If you're pretty anal like me about keeping the interior looking really clean and dust-free, it can get quite annoying.

I did have a TSX loaner with the tan interior and once I drove around with tan for a few days, it was

Black interior is the way to go.

Most of the women I know like the look of the TL much more than the TSX.

I keep a dusting cloth in storage above the not-an-ashtray, so I can dust off various parts of the dash every so often.
