so i pulled up tonight alongside a IS250 and we both had our lights on. My nice HIDs cast a clean smooth light over the street with a sharp cutoff along the side of the median, and he had a kit installed. He was glaring all over the place with hotspots all over the road and even in the trees above... i was sorry for the oncoming drivers. poor is250 driver spent all that money and had to install a HID kit..aww...

doesn't IS250 have a halogen projector housing stock? I know they don't come with HID's stock thats for sure.

Acutally, the HID are stock only if they add a package to the car. I think its the premium package but i'm not sure.

I know the first few months, no IS had HIDs. Thats including the is350. Kinda stupid when you're paying 35 grand for a car.

Another reason why I think Lexus is all absurd sometimes, come on HIDs should be standard on a "luxury" car. I'll buy another Acura or Infiniti before I buy a Lexus. I'm just annoyed this morning, but at least both of these car companies at least have HIDs standard on their luxury cars!

Its not just Lexus!! I seen plent of audi, volvo, MB, and etc without. How sad! They are paying $40k+ and dont even offer HIDs???

Most cars don't come equipped with HIDs. That's how they take your money...add this...add that. But it is sad that the IS250 didn't have HIDs. I have seen Mazda3s with OEM HIDs.

I saw a pearl white IS250 at the Volvo dealership the other day (picking up the wife's XC70 -- no HIDs). It's a beautiful car and a classy interior, but, man, that back seat would never work for me. I don't think my kids could be comfortable back there on a trip, and they're 3 and 5.

I agree with you guys, HIDs should be standard on a $30k+ car that purports to be a luxury-first sedan. I hate getting nickeled and dimed by packages that have the one thing I want along with four things I couldn't care about. Acura has it right, just put the right stuff on the car and charge whatever you feel the market will bear.
