MSN Reviews the TSX
This is one wierd review: http://autos.en.msn.ca/vip/job.aspx?...&src=reviewers
0-60
6MT: 8.75sec
SS: 9.69sec
1/4
6MT: 16.70sec @ 87.8
SS: 17.34 sec @ 84.8
Braking 62mph - 0
6MT: 147.5'
SS: 142.5'
I don't know who they had doing their testing but that person needs some formal training. These numbers are just dumb. How does the SS stop 5' shorter when it weighs 88lbs more???

From my initial read of the article, I must say that this guy probably is not much of an enthusiast driver but rather is more day to day living oriented in his reviews. I'm gonna do a little more digging to see how they generate performance numbers because those acceleration numbers are ridiculously slow.
Edit: After looking at some of this writers other reviews, I can conclude that their acceleration times are at least a half-second off the mark. Must be doing regular street standing starts instead of dump-clutch launches.

"The TSX line-up could not be simpler: it is offered in a single trim, with an identical current base price of $34,800, whether you choose the 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission. The equipment list is extensive. The major options are a DVD-based rear "entertainment system" priced at $2,912, a hands-free phone ($541), an MP3 Player ($743) and a cassette player ($473). Most others are trim or body-related add-ons."
Base price of $34,800, rear "entertainment system"? What car is this guy testing?
If you go to their pricing report (http://autos.en.msn.ca/vip/PriceRpt....04&TrimID=5017), it also shows a price of $34,800 and the page says the info was complied on 9/01/2004. Either something's off here or MS has figured out how to time travel.
Edit: Oops, just realized this is a Canadian review. Now the number make sense!

Exchange rate is approximately CDN$1 = USD$0.75.

You know, I was just being a smart ass but those converted numbers are looking familiar.

If only Texas has succeeded in its numerous attempts to secede from the union.....
Then Dubya would be president of the Republic of Texas, where he would be busy running up a huge deficit fighting the "imminent threat" posed by the armadillo population.

I noticed that and did the math for our American friends.
And before you start, I realize that I rounded to 60 and not 62. If you think it takes an extra 1.5 seconds to go from 60 to 62 than you might have a point.

Part of it depends if there is a shift point at 60 mph. I am going to do a test on my car to see if I can guesstimate what, if any, difference there might be between 0-62 and 0-60. I realize this is picking nits and more curiosity on my part since I am satisfied with the performance of the TSX and that acceleration is just one part of the overall driving experience for me. As an example, when I was shopping for a new car, I drove both the 04 TL and the 04 TSX. While I loved the acceleration of the TL I bought the TSX because the overall driving experience with the TSX was superior for me. Would not mind having a bit more torque though .
