MID info w/out pressing "i"

Saw this brought up in another thread but no answer was ever found. So, anyone know how to have the MID info appear when you start your car w/out having to press the "i" button? '07 TSX/Navi.

pull up your sidebrake while driving, and let go? You might as well as press the button, I think that's the easiest way of getting your MID to turn on.

This was actually a serious question but I appreciate the humor. Kind of. Only reason I asked was that it would be nice to start the car and have as much of the nice new tech ready to go without extra button pushes. Already have to push "OK" for the disclaimer on the Nav Screen, and adjust the outside mirrors and rearview mirror if my wife was driving. No, it's not the end of the world or even too much, but wanted to see if there was a quick fix. Meanwhile, I'll try steering with my two pinkie toes while using crutches to work the pedals while dressed as a penguin. Will that satisfy?

Actualy they are being serious. Any of a number of things like starting the car with a door open or not buckling causes the MID to automatically show. I have no idea why it was designed like that.

But, sadly, no there is no setting you can customize to have it come on automatically under more normal circumstances.

Maybe some electronics guru could create a module to press the button for you when you start the car? Maybe it could just temporarly pop up an error code to force the MID to turn on. I wish I know anything about electronics...

My bad. Seems absurd but sometimes UI is forgotten amongst the many, many programs going into new technology. Thanks for the help.

I just don't drive off within the first 5-10 seconds and I'm golden. I always park with my parking brake set, and being in Canada, the "DRL off" message pops up before I release the brake.

Hey, you might be the guy to ask. Do you know who wrote "the moon rulz #1" on my car?
