Metra Dash Mount - 2004-2008 TSX - NOW OUT

Not sure if it's a repost, but I just noticed that Metra posted this
Metra Online

I'm pretty excited but also pretty skeptical. The kit requires you to replace your HVAC controls...I'm not sure if I'll like the look, but who knows. Maybe it's a small price to pay for a double din deck in the old radio location!

Anyways just thought I'd share.

I received his pic after emailing them. Not sure how I feel about the new climate control look.

I've been pretty much fighting this decision on Facebook (where I am mostly now when it comes to car forums).

My idea is a bit cleaner and OEM looking but requires more work, but mirrors what the guys with 3G TL's are doing:

I would rather split the OEM navi and base radio and keep the the OEM base HVAC system and use the Navi bezel with the buttons blanked out. Sit a nexus 7 between the bezel and the factory radio (screen removed but circuit board remains) and voila.

3G TL's have been doing this for a while without some aftermarket bezels. Why are we not doing it how they're doing it and instead being lazy with a ugly cheap looking aftermarket bezel?!

Completely agree.

I was wondering why no one has yet to do that? People have modified the regular radio and done it.

Those aftermarket kits that replace the climate controls are always cheap. I installed one in a G35 coupe a while back and the only parts that look halfway decent on the kit are the ones I transferred over from the OEM dash piece.

That being said I would agree that splitting the systems up yourself and custom mounting either another stereo or a tablet would be a better option if you have the means.
