LCD Screen
OK, I am new here, but I have had my 05 TSX NBP/Parch w/Nav AT for about three weeks now and had a question. I live in AZ, where in about three months, it will be 2000 degrees in the shade. Is there anything I can do to extend the life of the LCD screen besides the obvious "park in the shade" (or in a freezer)? I didn't see anything in the OM severe climate section regarding the screen, so I thought I would ask. Is this going to be a problem?
Extreme heat will always be an enemy for things like LCDs. I recommend buying the extended warranty from Honda which covers things like the LCD and DVD player in the trunk. Those items replaced will cost more than the warranty.

Thanks for the heads up, and the reassurance. I think I will probably be OK.
Tinky- ESP=Extended Service Policy (Extended Warranty)
Bonzo, I should know this (professional hazard) but since it is about the lowest rung on the enforceable law ladder, I just don't really care unless your tint gets me hurt at work!! I know that I got 35%/20% (don't know which is front/rear). Your best bet if you are going to move here, is wait untill you get here and THEN get the tint. All of the shops here know the max you can get on the front two windows.

I have done a good bit of consulting for manufacturers of rear-seat video, and have read up on LCD glass specs as a result. The glass used for autos in RSE applications has a low-temp shutdown to prevent the glass image looking bad in cold weather. The TSX doesn't have this since I see bluish images in cold weather, I would expect it to get slow and blocky in cold weather too.
I can tell you that the dash location should be a lot less of an issue that roof mounted units that get heat off of the roof directly (through the hole in the headliner). Honda uses better panels than most of these makers do, and usually in hot weather areas the DVD drives are sketching well before the LCDs are...I think you will be fine.

Freeze
Well, I guess will have to see if I can get a refund on this Liquid Oxygen coolant system I got from the ad in the back of Popular Science... I figured all I had to do was route the LOx through some duct work with an exhaust aimed near the LCD (as well as one into each seat) and I could keep the screen nice and frosty and my ass from sticking to the leather even in August. Please NO SMOKING in the car folks!!

ceramic
I saw the ceramic, but was told that it only improved the long term appearance of the tint (fade, etc.), not the temperature reduction. I opted for the standard tint, then wrapped my car in tin foil.
